Life as it is
9 years now.

Into the darkness I slip.

Out the door,
Laced up,
Tight.
Breath clear
Long and drawn.

Into the daylight

I run.
Pacing drumbeat-
Steps,
And counting.
One-two-three.

Breaking the sunset

I walk.
Friends to greet me
Arms open.
Broken white- lines.
Then night.
