This is a poem I had to write for class a few months ago. Hope you like it!

When I’m by myself
And I close my eyes
And think about my life

I realize
That

I’d rather sing a lullaby
Then ever say goodbye

I’d rather fall to pieces
Then watch somebody else hurt

I’d rather cry while the sound increases
Than ever leave someone inert

I’d much rather cut a piece of myself
Than to watch someone ache

My life will just be a story to sit on a shelf
For maybe all I am is a mistake

Do they really miss me
Or am I just there for the fun of it?

Will they leave me to drown in the sea
Or will they fully commit?

Am I really worth loving
Or will they just end up leaving
Me believing
that I’m really worth nothing?

When I’m by myself
And I close my eyes
And think about my life

I realize
That I’m just not worth it.
