Ally gets her birthday wish fulfilled
"It's impossible," Jessie's voice cut through the chaos.

Ally shrugged, slid the neon green sign from under her arm, and unrolled it. "If I don't get up there, at least I tried," she shouted.

The crowd of concertgoers were screaming and singing, jumping around as the song drew to an end. This was her last chance to get up on stage and play with her favorite band.

Ally held the sign high, screaming the lead singer's name, hoping to grab his attention. She knew it just might be impossible, but she'd seen countless videos on YouTube of people making it up on stage by doing the same thing.

Besides, today was her birthday, which had to count for something.

When the song ended, the lights were shown only on the lead singer as he took the mic from the stand and moved toward the front of the stage. He looked out at the crowd as he ran a hand through his sweat-soaked black hair, smiling.

"You guys have been great tonight."

The crowd went wild.

Ally started jumping, shaking the sign, praying to catch his attention when suddenly he shaded his eyes and pointed in her direction.

"Hold up. Today's my seventeenth birthday, and I'd love to play with you!"

Ally and Jessie screamed at the top of their lungs.

The singer waved her forward. "All right, come on up here."

Before her next breath, security guards and the crowd made a path for her to the stage.

"Oh my, God," Jessie screamed, "get up there." She snatched the sign as Ally moved through the crowd in a daze and to the stage.

Outfitted with a guitar, Ally started playing, her nervous fingers strumming the strings when he began singing.

"Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking."
