God Is Kind, and the Bible is true

Scripture: Genesis 1:3

Scripture Verse: “All Your words are true.” Psalm 119:160

God’s Attribute:Merciful. God Is kind even when people do bad things.

Main Truth: The Bible is God’s true story.

Story:

“Our hands we fold, our heads we bow, so we can talk to God,” make sign for God, “right now. Thank You, God,” make sign, “for everyone here. Thank You, God, for Cain and Abel and Seth and Miss Coleader and Miss me. Thank You, God, for the Bible, Your true word.” Make sign and say “Amen.”

Hold up Bible. “Does anyone know what book this is? This book,” lean forward and show them up close, “is the Bible.” Tap Bible. “The Bible comes from God.” Sign for God. “The Bible is God’s holy book/let’s open it and see/ Open Bible /where it tells us of God’s love/God loves you/ God loves me.” Name every child.

“This is the Bible. The Bible is full of God’s words. All the words here,” flip pages throughout, “are God’s words.”

”The Bible tells people about God.” Make eye contact. “People like Cain and Abel and Seth…” point to each child. God wants people to know about God.”

”The Bible tells true stories about people.”

”The Bible says God Is kind. Even when people do bad things, God Is kind.”

”The Bible tells people about Jesus.” Sign for Jesus. “God Is Jesus’ dad.”

“Jesus came to show people God’s love.” Signs for God and Jesus.

“The Bible is true/the Bile is true/ everything the Bible says/ the Bible is true.”

Songs:

Prayer: “God, help us sing happy songs to You. Amen.” Pass out bells. “The Bible is true. People can trust the words in the Bible.” Trust and Obey. “The Bible says to do what God says. Doing what God says is obeying.” Trust and Obey again.

“The Bible says God Is kind, and the Bible says God Is good. Let’s sing God Is So Good.” First two verses.

Collect bells. Pass out ribbons. “God Is holy. Holy means God Is good all the time. The Bible is full of God’s words. The Bible is holy, too.” Holy, Holy, Holy. Change ‘merciful’ to ‘kind? Holy, Holy, Holy,God Is kind and mighty?

Quiet Time: Settle children on blanket. Turn off lights. Sing Jesus Loves Me. Tell children about the cross. Sing memory verse. Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow, He’s Got the Whole World, Praise Ye the Lord.

Large Muscle: Hoop and ball, marching, If You’re Happy and You Know It, dancing.
