A short poem.
The first few hours were pleasure,
Filled with comfort and fun.
Overflowing with joy unable to measure.
In the first few hours with no sun.

Crickets chirp, filling my ears with sound,
Steady pouring of water from the stream.
My creativity has been unbound,
It all seemed like a dream.

Faint howls from wolves nearby,
Soft touch of the trees.
Soft glow from the moon in the sky,
My heart has found its set of keys.

But soon enough the fun ended,
And the darkness of night set in.
Creepiness and uncertainty were blended,
And I felt cold pricks on my skin.

The wolves howls became louder,
The wind blew my hair to my eyes.
My comforts have disintegrated to powder,
My mind is filled with lies.

No longer do the trees look cheery,
The bark scratches my arm.
Even the cricket are now dreary,
Shouting chirps of alarm.

I should never have agreed,
To come to the forest in the night.
My legs ache as I run with all my speed,
Powered by my fright.

The darkness passes past the barrier to my mind,
I hyperventilate and lie against a tree.
The sky grows darker and I become blind,
No longer able to see.

I drift into the darkness,
Letting it engulf my soul.
I have lost my sharpness,
And I am no longer in control.

But hope is a fire,
In the darkness of people's minds.
It has traits that you admire,
Extinguishing the doubt it finds.

I focus on the hope in the dark,
I remember the sun will rise.
I see a light spark,
And gasp in surprise.

The sunrise was amazing,
Auroras of purple and pink.
And after a few minutes of gazing,
I could barely even think.

Even in total pitch black,
Do not mope.
Remember that the sun will be back.
And never lose your hope.
