Man up ladies (& some of you men, too. Stop hiding behind your genderqueer & trans labels)
Ya know, I walk by all sorts of parks and outdoor spaces in New York: basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis and volleyball courts... but I so rarely see any girls or women out there. Why? I don't understand. I grew up in Canada and spent lots of time on lunch breaks and after school and otherwise playing sports. Throwing footballs, shooting hoops, playing soccer, badminton, tossing baseballs, tennis balls, lacrosse balls against walls, heck, even playing pool (billiards) with my cousins or friends or whoever was around. Sometimes, well a lot of the time actually, just all by myself. Why do I not see girls and women doing that round here? What's stopping y'all from being active and having fun? Last summer, I spent some time alone just listening to tunes and shooting hoops at the basketball courts nearby my home. It was fun. I spent lots of time kickboxing and climbing the nearby mountain too, just because it feels good to move my body around and feel alive, be thankful that I still can do all these things at my very advanced age, lol!

As a kid and as a teen, I was especially fond of soccer. I usually played midfield, but I liked the idea of being the goalie and always volunteered for that position. I always thought it was a super important position that required a lot of flexibility and attention. Ya gotta be quick to anticipate where the ball was going to be aimed—and your teammates are counting on you to be that last line of defense.

Anyhow, I used to stand inside of the goalposts when I was a kid and hold onto the top section to steady myself and get my friends, and whoever else was passing by in the school playground, to kick me as hard as they could in the shins so I could toughen up; therefore, it wouldn’t hurt when someone booted a ball full speed at me.
I did this with my arms too, but it was easy enough to toughen up my arms alone just by playing volleyball.

I suppose if Naruto had been around for me to watch as a kid, I would have taken a page from him and Rock Lee and smashed my limbs myself by kicking and punching trees, lol!

May seem a bit strange to some of you that I would do this kind of thing, but I just wanted to be able to handle taking high impact hits and not have it sting or hurt. Anyhow, it definitely worked in my favor as I can handle getting kicked and hit pretty hard, even by paintballs, lol! I always assumed that my shin bones are kinda lumpy from getting kicked so much while my bones were still growing. I was about 9 years old when I started attempting to toughen up my muscles and bones in this manner, so they were definitely a bit softer and more malleable. Certainly didn't do me any harm in the long run, in fact, I would say it helped me a lot, lol!
