Impotent rage is inspired
by the pathetic presentation of a perfidious
opportunity to pick a political winner
one who actually cares about
anyone other than themselves

promising the earth
paradise too perhaps
so many good things when you vote for them
more of what you want
much more of what you need
piecrusts

what we will get is more of the same
pay more, and more, evermore
receive less and less
those oh so necessary cuts
blamed
... of course
on extenuating circumstances
beyond their control
then picking our pockets once again

Chose your mendacious mediocracy now

line our pockets
