An acrostic poem expressing a plethora of Irish wisdom and anecdotes.
Prompt: ST PATRICK'S DAY


S eventeen o’ March – a day on which St. Patrick passed.
T he saint and patron of the Emerald Isle caste.

P ass by walls of rock, strong built to fortify,
A ncient heroes, and kith and kin to dignify.
T raditions, tankard of ale, and tea beside the fire,
R eminds us to be true to all your heart’s desire.
I reland – a land of poets, dreamers and rebels.
C lover and heather; the ghostly moor which day dispels.
K ings, warriors, and mischievous fairies,
' tis harps and butterflies bear missives of hope, despair.
S hamrocks for love, protection, and unity.

D istilleries and dancing, from glen to city,
A uthentic land leaves us wanting more,
Y our tongues speak well of all Irish lore.
