Operation: SILVER BULLET

Part I

In the city of brotherly love Philadelphia was moving along like any other normal day.Well, normal for Philly anyway which is not saying too much. A man and a woman were previously married for 10 years. Until one day the wife ran into an old high school friend.
An old high school friend that she had a complicated history with. They both had deep feelings for one another but back then they were too afraid to act on it. After running back into one another they fell in love but she was married. The three of them agreed to be in a throuple relationship and her old friend moved in with them. Her name was Kris Graham and her and the husband Benji Suarez became close friends while they both proceeded to have a shared relationship with his wife Josemary.
After months and months of this relationship things began to hit a road block and arguments began to persist.One night the three of them got into an argument it was too hard for Kris to continue in this relationship and even though it was going to hurt she knew she had to leave considering Benji and Josemary were the married ones.

“I can’t do this anymore” Kris had her bags packed and next to the front door.
Josemary tries to convince her to stay.
“It’s not fair to either me or Benji. I thought I was cool with it but you can’t have us both.”
Benji silently agrees but Josemary is freaking out. She is not ready to lose Kris but she also doesn’t want to hurt Benji. Once Kris’s hand went to open the front door all the feelings Josemary had build up inside began to change her before both their very eyes.Her eyes turned red then she began to convulse uncontrollably knocking her to the ground.
With in seconds she turned into a creature. Once full changed her animal instincts took over and she began mauling Benji to death leaving Kris a chance to make a run for it.

Part II

Kris was running all through the neighborhood bumping into people out on the street getting cursed out because she was frantic and no one knew what was happening. Not much time passed before everyone heard screams from a distance. A crowd of people began to chaotically run away. Kris tries following the crowd away from the danger and then out of nowhere loud helicopters flew over their heads shining bright lights down to the crowd. Machine guns were going off in the distance and screams screeched through the night sky.
It felt like she was in the middle of a war zone. A man shouted through a megaphone.
“For your safety please make your way downtown calmly. Solders will be there to save you at Rittenhouse Square.”
Kris made it all the way to the square downtown and watched as people were being boarded on school buses to take them out of the city. Before getting a chance to board a bus about 12 people were grouped together and taken hostage by the soldiers. They were being lead into a the Rittenhouse hotel.

They were locked in a bright white room instructed to sit down in a line of white chairs that were in front of them. There were three people there she knew. A co worker named Kim and her friend Destiny. They both flocked to Kris very frightened.
“What is happening” Kim asked?
Not trying to tell what she knew Kris shook her head and Destiny grabbed her arm to feel comfort. When everyone sat down she recognized a guy at the end. It was Darrell Williams her old best friend and ironically Josemary’s ex-boyfriend from high school. They noticed each other but didn’t speak they nodded in acknowledgment.
A man walked in. “Please be seated” he asked?
Everyone sat except for one guy who continued to stand awkwardly disobeying the man. He gave the man an intimidating look.
The man scoffs “I’d rather stand”.
“And who might you be sir” he asked?
“Captain Wayne Tran. Would you like to fill me in on what is happening to my city…Mr. …”
“That’s lieutenant. Lieutenant James O’Ryan”.
That shut Captain Tran up for the moment at least.
“What is happening” a woman cried?
“I guess it’s no use keeping a lid on this secret mission. Philadelphia is under attack by a monster” O’ Ryan admitted.
Everyone seemed puzzled.
“A monster. Stop playing games with us” a CaptainTran shouted.
The lieutenant gave him a grave look.
“Who’s playing games. You all witnessed the chaos.”
“Yeah, people were freaking out but I didn’t see no monster. Did anyone else see a monster” Captain Tran asked?
The others shook their heads no but Destiny spoke up “I did hear loud growls and animal sounds”.
Captain Tran agreed “okay so we are under attack by a big ass bear or something there is no such things as monsters” he stated.

The lieutenant cleared his throat to gain the rooms attention. He pointed a remote at the wall and pushed a button. Articles popped up on a screen projector.
“ Military experiments gone wrong” the lieutenant began to explain.
“In the late eighties our military was splicing human DNA with animals to create super soldiers for war. However, the only form of animal that was a success was the wolf.”
The captain was still hesitant to believe and laughed out loud.
“You expect us to believe that we are under attack by a werewolf. What? An American werewolf in Philly. Give me a break.”
O’ Ryan ignores his comments and continues his story.

“It got out of control. People were turning into ferocious beasts and we could not control them. They took out the entire camp. So they had to be put down. It was rumored that there were possible escapes of a few experiments but years went by without any signs of attacks. We figured they ended up dying off.It wasn’t until 2008 a string of animal attacks in the Poconos landed on our radar. What we didn’t anticipate was if the experiments procreated the genes could’ve been passed down. We figured our wolf turned on the eve of their 16th birthday.”
On the projector pictures of the experimented men and woman popped up and Kris and Darrell both recognized Josemary’s father. They both fidget a bit in their seats. The captain decided to level with the lieutenant.
“Alright. So, say we believe you. Military experiments, splicing DNA and werewolves oh my. What are we doing here? What do you want from us”?
“We suspect that one if not all of you had a run in with the beast in human form. It could be anyone you know. We would like it if you could help your country by helping us capture and put down one of our greatest mistakes. Your country will thank you.”
The lieutenant leaves the room letting them to discuss amongst each other.
Kris and Darrell make eye contact having a whole conversation without words. They both dated the same girl and knows exactly who and what Josemary is…

Part III

Darrell gets up and walks towards the corner. Everyone gets up arguing out of fear. Disagreeing on how they should proceed. No one wanted to put themselves in danger. Kris tries to get up and realizes Destiny still had a strong grip on her.
“Where you going” she asked?
“I’ll be right back. I swear.”
She’s hesitant but she let’s go and Kris walks over to Darrell in the corner. They greet each other awkwardly.
“This is crazy right” Darrell admitted.
Kris nods but wasn’t sure what he knew so she decided to phish him out.
“Yeah. A werewolf…that’s crazy” she said rolling her eyes.
Darrell gave her a look.
“Come on Kris. Don’t act stupid. We both know ….I dated her too” he whispered.
They both looked around trying to make sure no one over heard.
“So.. you know” she asked?
“Yeah and despite what happen between us back then I always kept it a secret”.
“Why” Kris seemed surprised?
“Because she was my first. I will always love her.”
Kris felt uncomfortable.
“Besides it’s not like she was going around killing people. I don’t think she changed since we went out in high school. What caused this” Darrell asked?

Before she had a chance to explain the room became strikingly chaotic and the sound of a gun shot frightened everyone. Kim and Destiny ran to Kris’s side and Captain Tran retreated to the corner on the other side of the room. Lieutenant O’ Ryan walked in the room with a handful of soldiers with rifles.
“We don’t have time for this bullshit. I just have one question… Which of you are against serving your country”?
Everyone in the middle of the room raised their hands and without a hesitation O’ Ryan gave a signal and his soldiers sprayed their magazines out until there was no bullets left. Captain Tran, Darrell and Kris fell to the floor taking cover while Kim and Destiny were so scared they didn’t move. Once it was over and the smoke cleared the Lieutenant said “you five come with me”.
They stood up and followed the Lieutenant out of the white room and into a huge lobby of the Rittenhouse Hotel. There were tables full of guns, bombs, ammo, equipment and clothes.
“Suit up and come over here?”
They all get dressed like soldiers and walked over to O’ Ryan where he demonstrated how to use the weapons. Then walked over to a white board where he explains the plan.
“So, the beast was last spotted on Chestnut and 3rd. We are going to surround the area from all four angles. Tran and I will cover the East side. You four will cover South. And the rest of my men got north and west.”
The soldiers pull out a huge cage like device on a pulley that seemed electric.
“What’s that Kim asked”?
“Our little insurance policy” O’ Ryan jest.
“The mission is to trap the beast in a corner so it can run into the cage” Tran expressed taking over.
“Yeah. Tran and you can be the bait” O’ Ryan joked again.

Everyone except Kris, Darrell, Kim and Destiny laughed. Even Tran chuckled nervously not wanting to appear intimidated.
“Everyone get comfortable with your weapons because we move out at 2200 hours” the Lieutenant said.
Then he left the room with his team. Darrell walked over to Kris.
“So, what are we gonna do” he asked?
Kris looked at him contemplating.
“Well,I don’t want her to die. Wolf or not she still is my girlfriend.”
Destiny and Kim walk over to them.
“What are you guys whispering about” Destiny asked?
They both looked at each other and Kris decided that they could use the help so she includes her friends.
“We know who the wolf is” Kris admitted.
“WHAT”Kim screamed?
“If you know, why won’t you say something” she asked out loud?
Kris shushed her but Kim was confused on why she would hide the identity of a ferocious animal attacking the city.
“Because it’s Josemary”.
Both Destiny and Kim were shocked.
“Listen, you know Josemary. She doesn’t go around wolfing out everyday attacking people. Something triggered her and we are going to try to save her and turn her back human. I was hoping you could help us” Kris said assuming.
Kim seemed completely uneasy but Destiny even though astounded agreed to help.
“I don’t like this” Kim confessed.
“Come on. Let’s take this time to take a look around” Darrell initiated.
Kris agreed and Destiny pulled Kim along while they followed them down the hall. Captain Tran caught them sneaking away and goes to alert Lieutenant O’ Ryan.

Part IV

The four of them reach a door that had a sign that read: CONFIDENTIAL

“Let’s check in here” Darrell suggested.
Kim was hesitant “I think we should go back guys. I think we should fess up”.
“Fess up. So, that they can kill Josemary” Kris remarked aggressively.
“Hey, come on. Let’s not turn on each other.No matter what Josemary is she is our friend and we are all in this together.So…relax” Destiny said.
They walk into the room filled with computers pinging locations of different animal attacks. Pictures of potential marks and tables full of papers. The gang splits up and to take a look around. Destiny phishes through the paper and found a red folder. When she looks through it she finds charts of DNA samples and notes claiming that their was a possible cure.
“Look at this” Destiny says.
Kris and Darrell walk over and Kim hangs back.
“Apparently if you mix wolfs bane, soil from a dead relative grave site, blood from the wolf and DNA from their soulmate it can create a reversal serum.”
“How are we supposed to get all of that” Kris asked?
“Well, we know who the wolf is so we know where to get the blood. How that’s another story” Destiny said with sarcasm.
“And I know where her father is buried too” Darrell added.
“You know their is a little magic shop on the corner of Arch. I walk by going to work everyday. They might carry wolfs bane” Destiny told them.
“Okay, that’s great and all but your forgetting something…DNA from her soulmate. I mean Benji her husband…he is kind of ya know dead” Kris informed them.
“I mean it doesn’t say the DNA needs to be from someone alive.. we need to at least try” Darrell tried to encourage.

Lieutenant O’ Ryan and Captain Tran burst into the room.
“What do we have here? A little too curious for my taste” O’ Ryan said.
Kim was squirming and Tran took notice of how uncomfortable she was.
Kris and Darrell seemed a little stuck for words so Destiny spoke up.
“We were just looking around. Seeing what exactly we are up against. I mean we are basically like sacrificing our lives to help out your mission.”
O’ Ryan squinted puzzled.He motioned with his head.
“Get out” he yelled.
They all cautiously but swiftly walk by.
“Your just going to let them go” Tran cried.
“You can tell that your just a city cop.You think I didn’t notice how suspicious they were being. By letting them go they will lead us right to what we want to find”.
The lieutenant radioed his team.
“Keep watch of those four. Report their every move. I want to know what they are up to.”
In the meantime Tran was moseying around in the corner whispering to himself “just a city cop”.
After the lieutenant was done on the radio Tran spoke up about what he saw.
“So, I’m sure since your such well trained you noticed that one little blond one was acting a little anxious. I don’t think she is quite on the same page as the rest of them. We can use that to our advantage.”
Tran agrees appearing impressed.
“Let’s go” he said.
“Just a city cop my ass” Tran says to himself again.

Kris, Darrell, Destiny and Kim run out of the Rittenhouse Hotel and stop a few blocks up the street.
“Look. We are running out of time. We should split up. Darrell you go get the soil since you know where her father is buried. Kris you get the DNA from Josemary’s husband since your the only one with a key. And I’ll take Kim with me to the magic shop”.
“Where should we meet ” Darrell asked?
“Well, I mean does anyone know where Josemary is”?
They overheard chatter on a radio and they hid from the soldier. Some coordinates came through his walkie and Destiny suggested they type in the coordinates into google.
When Darrell said that the coordinates are pinging at Tyson and Rising Sun, Destiny asked “where’s that”?
Kris looks up “our house. I guess meet me at my place” she said.
They agreed and went their separate ways. Destiny had to drag Kim with her. You would of thought that they where holding her hostage by the way she has been acting.

Part V

The whole way to the magic shop Kim kept trying to convince Destiny that they should turn themselves in. They get there and the door is locked.
“Too bad” Kim said about to walk away.
Destiny grabbed her “not so fast”.
Destiny pulled Kim into the alley to see if their was another way in. The door on the side was locked too. She looked around and found a broken piece of thick wood and broke the window. She stuck her hand in to unlock the door. Again pushing Kim into the store. Right after they walked in military men came creeping around the corner.

Darell climbed over the spiked fence to get into the cemetery. Rain clouds rolled through and began to rain over the cemetery. He walked over to a big oak tree and the fifth headstone down was the grave he was looking for. He knelt down and pulled a bag out of his jacket pocket. Once he grabbed a handful of dirt and put it in the bag he hears the screech from a car. Two government agents pulled up quickly on him.

Kris slowly opens the front door and quietly tries to tip toe around. In the living room is Benji’s dead body on the floor. A pool of blood was staining the hardwood. She covered her eyes while trying to walk past him to go up stairs. She looked all around Josemary didn’t seem to be around. Kris went into the bathroom to get a q-tip. She walked back to Benji’s body and swabbed inside his mouth.

Back at the magic shop Destiny and Kim was looking all over for some wolfsbane but was having trouble. On the counter was plotted plants labeled wolfsbane.
“Here it is” Destiny said while a bullet went right passed her head breaking glass behind her.
They screamed Destiny grabbed what she needed and they ran out of the store. Darrell was being chased out of the cemetery by a black SUV almost running him over but he escaped. Shaking while putting the q-tip in a ziploc bag Tran and O’ Ryan burst through the door scaring her. They pulled their guns out claiming she was under arrest for treason. Suddenly, the wolf broke through the wall and tried to defend Kris. They began shooting and Kris hit the floor crawling away from the gun fire. The wolf took out a couple of the lieutenant’s men before she was grazed by a bullet. She whimpered in pain and took off away from the danger. Tran and O’ Ryan went back to base to regroup.

Everyone managed to make it back to Kris’s place.
“Where’s Kris” Darrell shouted when he got there?
Destiny shook her head “I don’t know we just go here too”.
A loud bang came from over in the corner. Kris threw pieces of the house off of her.
“I’m over here” she said.
Darrell helped her up.
“What happened” Destiny asked?
“A battle between O’ Ryan and Josemary”.
“Oh, my god” Destiny expressed her concern.
“She got hit” Kris mentioned and pointed over to where her she bled.
She walked over ripped a piece of her shirt and wiped up her blood.
“Does everyone have everything we need” she asked?
Darrell pulls out the bag of dirt and Destiny pulls out wolfsbane wrapped in a napkin while Kris held Benji’s DNA and Josemary’s blood.
“Alright, let’s get started” she said.

Back at the base O’ Ryan was given the information he asked for.That Darrell visited a grave belonging to a Mario Del Toro and the girls stole herb called wolfsbane.The lieutenant smiles after putting all the pieces together.
“So, that’s what they’re up to”.
But then thought what was the connection. Why did that name sound familiar? O’Ryan ran to the confidential room and rummaged through some files. He pulled out and envelope with the papers of all the experiments and there in black and white was Mario Del Toro.
“Soldier” he yelled.
A man stepped up “sir” he answered.
He hands him the paper “find out information on this man quickly”.
“Aye” he said.
O’Ryan looked at Tran “this just got a little more interesting.

Part VI

Kris and Destiny are in the kitchen making the cure while Darrell is on watch duty. Afraid out of her mind Kim is huddled in a corner with tears constantly streaming down her face. She has been against this plan since the beginning and has been dragged along. A sound of loud static grabs her attention.
She walks over to the window seeing dead military men on the ground. The sound of distant chatter had her follow it outside. She sees the walkie on his hip. She looks back at the house and Darrell walked away from keeping guard. She decides to bend down and pick the walkie up.
“Hello” she said into it.

“We’re done” Destiny told Darrell.
He nodded. Kris walked up to them showing them the vile of the cure.
“So, where do you think would be a safe place she would go” Destiny asked?
“Her family cabin in the Poconos. We went there once while we dated. She told me that it was her favorite place” Darrell mentioned.
They all agreed.
“Where’s Kim” Kris asked?

‘We will be in touch’ a voice said over the walkie.
“Kim” Destiny shouted.
She turned around suspiciously like she was caught. Destiny walked up to her and Kim slipped the walkie sneakily into her pocket.
“What are you doing out here” she asked?
“I needed some air” she answered.
Destiny understands.
“Well, let’s go. We have one chance at this and we are ready”.
Kim nods her head Darrell pulled up in Kris’s car. He was driving because he knew the way and the girls hopped in the back.

It was silent for most of the trip. Kris checked the GPS to see how much longer. She was becoming more and more anxious the closer they got. Darrell couldn’t help but notice her leg nervously shaking.
“How much longer” Kim asked?
“About 20 minutes Darrell” answered.
Destiny was asleep on the other side of the car and Kim whispered into the walkie.
“D” Kris said.
“What”?
“How did you know about Josemary? Did she like tell you”?
“No. It was pretty much a surprise”.
“Was that the reason why you broke up” she asked curiously?
“Part of it”he admitted.

He didn’t seem like he wanted to talk about but she stared at him until he did.
“We were together maybe five months. I wanted to surprise her with a romantic weekend at her family cabin for her birthday. At first everything was fine. Then we got into an argument” he explained.
“About what”?
He looked at her and took a second before he answered.
“You”.
Kris seems completely off guard by this.
“Me. What about”?
“How close you two were back then made me crazy jealous and I gave her an ultimatum. If she wanted to be together then she had to drop you”.
She was shocked by his confession.
“She didn’t really like that. She changed right in front of my eyes. Almost damn near took my head off.”
“How did you get away? What changed her back” she asked?
“Honestly, I don’t know what changed her back but I was able to grab my keys off the table and make a run for the car. I seen her about a week later. Turns out she hurt a few people up here but had little to no memory of it.”
“Why didn’t you turn her in”?
“Cause I still loved her. She was still Josemary after all. I decided to keep it secret. We broke up and then I transferred to another school.”
“So, that’s why you left” it was all making sense to her.
“I know you were always hurt that I disappeared but I was mad, confused and freaking out. It’s not everyday you learn that werewolves exists. Besides it took me a while to understand”.
Kris turns and looks at him curious.
“Understand what?”
Darrell exhaled.
“That it was always you”.

A bullet comes through the back window interrupting their conversation. Destiny wakes up and they look back. Tran was driving behind them while O’Ryan was firing his service pistol at their car. They began gaining up on them trying to knock them off the road. Kim rolled down the window and began shouting out of it.
“Help me. Help me. I gave you the information you wanted now save me”.
Both Kris and Destiny looked at Kim sideways feeling completely betrayed.
It began to pour cats and dogs outside.
“What are you doing” Destiny asked?
“What I need to to survive. A werewolf…are you fucking kidding me”.
Darrell is trying his best but he starts to lose control. Tran speeds up hitting the tail end of their car one last time and the car spins out of control hitting a tree. They all crawl out the car hurt but still alive.

Tran stops hard skidding the tire and they both get out and open the trunk where they pull out shotguns, shells and protective gear.
Kim gets the strength to stand up.
“HERE. HERE. WE’RE OVER HERE” she screams trying to alert them to where they are at.
“Shut the fuck up, bitch” Darrell said.
Ignoring him she just continues to scream and make noise until Destiny walks up punches her in the face knocking her out. She shakes her head in disbelief of her betrayal.
“Come on. We have to make it to the cabin” Kris shouted.
They entered the woods with Tran and O’Ryan tailing right behind them.

Part VII

Darrell, Kris and Destiny are all running through the woods. Tran and the Lieutenant are getting closer. Intimidating them by discharging their weapons. Destiny was so scared she began to look back not paying attention. Than there was an echo of a loud snap proceeded with agonizing screams. Darrell and Kris both stopped. Looking back they see Destiny on the ground in immense pain. They run over and notice that her leg got caught in a bear trap.

Darrell quickly tries to pull the trap open enough to get her foot out but struggles. Kris gets down on her knees trying to calm her.
“Shh..shh.. shh. I know it hurts but you have to be quiet.”
“Kris. Kris. Help me” he said.
They both pull on one side and open it enough for Destiny to pull her leg out. They let go and the bear trap slams shut quickly in their face. Darrell tries to catch his breath and Kris gets up to comfort Destiny as she is whimpering on the wet ground. They try to tend to her wound. Darrell takes his shirt off and Kris wraps it around her leg. She is interrupted by Tran hitting Darrell over the head with the back end of his shot gun. He fell to the ground and is hurt but not knocked out. Destiny crawls over to a tree trunk out of the way for more safety while Kris engages into an unfair fight with Captain O’Ryan. He could of just shot her but he felt like this was personal after all the trouble she caused him. Darrell was forced to watch by gunpoint.
Kris is knocked to the ground. The wind was knocked out of her and she tried to regain her breath to say.
“I can end this. We made the cure”.
He laughs.
“It don’t work you stupid dyke. It didn’t work then and it ain’t gonna work now”.
“Back then it couldn’t work unless you specifically made it with the wolfs true love” Darrell added.
O’Ryan scoffed.
“Oh, yeah. And I suppose you know exactly who this beast true love is” he remarked sarcastically.

A loud howl got everyone’s attention. They all become weary looking around unsure which direction the wolf was going to come from. Kris looked at Darrell intently and it was almost like he could read her mind. She grabbed a huge handful of mud and threw it at O’ Ryans face. At the same time Darrell stomped down hard on Tran’s foot. In pain he staggered back and Darrell elbowed him in the face. Both Darrell and Kris began wrestling with Tran and O’Ryan in the rain for their guns.
BOOM.

A loud noise broke up the fight and by the tree Destiny was watching all of this go down. She looks up and looks surprised.
“Kim” she announced.
Kim was holding a hand gun she stole from the dead soldier in front of Kris’s place. Pointing it erratically at everyone.
“ENOUGH” she screamed.
The lieutenant got up off the ground trying to talk her down.
“Listen, young lady. We are all on the same team here. You remember. You radioed me for help. Now I’m here. I’m saving you. So, just give me the gun”.
Shaking in fear she still keeps pointing the gun at everyone. He goes to reach for the gun and she shoots the ground near his feet. O’Ryan jumps back.
“Kim what are you doing” Kris decides to speak now?
Kim points the gun at her “give me the cure” she said.
“WHAT? I can’t do that”.
“God dammit Kris give me the fucking cure. I promised the cure in exchange for my safety and that is what I’m going to do”.
“Little girl I made you that offer” O’Ryan said.
She shakes her head “yeah, but I don’t trust you. So, give me the cure or I will kill you for it”.
Everyone looks at Kris and she shakes her head no. Kim starts to slowly pull the trigger when the wolf jumps out from behind some bushes bulldozing Kim out of everyone’s view. Dragging her into the forest where she was ripped apart.
The wolf came running back.
“This is our only chance” Kris yelled.
To save himself O’Ryan pushed Tran in front of him where the wolf swiped her claws across his chest. While distracted Kris runs up behind her injecting the cure into her side.
The wolf feels threatened and strong arms Kris away.Destiny can’t move even if she wanted to. Darrell runs over to help Kris up.
“It’s not working. Why isn’t it working” Kris screams?
O’Ryan shakes his head “I told you. You might as well just have got us killed”.
He tries to shoot at the wolf but she ran too far away for a precision shot.

Part VIII

It was still raining and O’Ryan has taken them hostage. Darrell and Kris were on each side of Destiny while they were helping her limp. The lieutenant was behind them with the shotgun.
“What if it just takes awhile? What if we get to the cabin and find her back in human form” Kris was suggesting?
“Or what if Benji was not her true love. I mean what if you are. We are going to need your DNA to make another sample”.
Destiny could tell Darrell was getting agitated and she tried to get Kris to stop talking but she wasn’t taking the hint.
“Shut up” he screamed.
Kris seemed confused.
“We need to save Josemary” she said.
Darrell stops “what if we can’t Kris. Look at us. Destiny is hurt. The captain and Kim are dead along with other people. You’re okay with getting us killed to get your girlfriend back. What if the cure just don’t work like the lieutenant said” he snapped at her.
O’Ryan pushed them with the shotgun “Keep walking and shut up”.

They were quiet all the way to the cabin. Darrell and Kris helped Destiny to the couch and O’Ryan was looking out the windows for any sign of the wolf. Dawn began breaking and light was starting to shine through the cabin.
“Hey, man. Why did you bring us here” Darrell got brave enough to ask?
“Because I have a job to do and I’m not leaving until I complete my mission. And you are going to help me do it”.
“Do what? Kill an innocent girl” Kris asked?
“Innocent. Innocent” he aggressively got in her face “was there anything innocent about what we saw in them woods”.
“Yo, take it easy man” Darrell said pulling him away.
“She didn’t ask to be this way you know. She was born this way” Destiny decided to add.
O’Ryan looks at her ignoring her comment “I’m going to have a look around. You three sit tight for now.”

Darrell sat the dining room table and Kris sat next to Destiny. It was quiet for a while before Kris broke the ice “Darrell” she said.
“Yeah”.
“Earlier in the car when you told me about the night she turned for the first time. What do you think triggered it”?
He walks over to them on the couch and sits in front of them on the coffee table.
“Well, I believe the thought of possibly loosing you in order to be with me was triggering for her emotionally. Love is an extremely powerful emotion.”
Kris thinks back to yesterday when they had their huge fight she began to feel guilty.
“All of this is my fault guys”.
They seemed confused.
“Why would you say that” Destiny asked?
Kris looks away. Darrell can feel her guilt “what happened” he asked?

“We argued right before she turned.I wasn’t happy with our relationship between the three of us. I knew she was already married and I decided to get involved anyway. I just couldn’t stand to share her anymore so…I broke it off. I was leaving”.
Neither of them didn’t know what to say to ease her guilt but gun shots interrupted the moment.

Darrell ran over to the window and saw O’Ryan running out of the woods being chased.
“They’re coming right this way” Darrell alerted them.
Then the lieutenant came crashing through the wall he was thrown so hard. He was in pain trying to crawl away but the wolf jumps on top of him. He tried turning the gun on her but before he could shoot she bends the metal. She snarls and growls in his face. Saliva goes everywhere.
Darrell looks Kris in the eye “it is you. You are her true love. It has always been you”.
The beast was about to rip O’Ryan apart when Kris tries to intervene.
“Stop. Josemary. I know your still in there. You need to come back to me, okay.”
She grows getting ready to dig her claws into his chest still.
“HEY. I’m not going anywhere. I’m still here.”

The wolf begins to back up and slowly turns back to human. A young naked woman falls to the floor in the fetal position crying. Kris runs over and cover her with her jacket.
“You see Lieutenant she’s just a girl. Just a girl with massive emotions” Destiny jokes.
O’Ryan’s radio catches a signal.
“Sir, sir. I repeat what is the status of the mission”.
“So, what are you going to do” Darrell asked?
“Yeah, I mean I did save your life after all” Kris added.
He radioed back “subject terminated. Operation Silver Bullet complete. Over”.
“Roger that, sir”.
“She gets a pass today but if she raises any flags on my radar. I will be back”.
“I don’t doubt it” Kris remarked.

Part IX

It has been three months later. Josemary has been reeling with the guilt of the people she murdered while she was in wolf form but also the loss of her husband. It is a lot to bare but Kris has been by her side every step of the way.

Darrell and Kris are sitting in a car talking.
“Listen, Destiny made another vile of the cure using your DNA this time” he said while giving it to her.
“How the hell did she get all the ingredients”?
He shakes his head “I don’t know man. I learn it’s better to not ask her questions”.
She laughs. “That’s right ya’ll are together now. How is that going”?
“Sometimes good. Sometimes bad. But at the end of the day she is the only other person who understands what we went though its nice to have that in common”.
Kris agrees.
“So, you think this will actually work” he asked?
“I guess there’s only one way to find out”.
Kris smiles and gives Darrell a handshake “see you later” she said. He nods.

Kris gets out of the car and walks down a trail leading to a cute hidden spot underneath the Benjamin Franklin bridge looking out at the Delaware river. Josemary was standing there contemplating. Kris comes up behind her wrapping her arms around her waist. Josemary was startled at first but smiled after realizing it was Kris.

“What did Darrell want” she asked?
Kris stops hugging her and gets serious.
“Uhh, well. Do you remember me telling you that there was a cure”?
She nods “yeah, but you said you injected in me but it didn’t work”.
Kris scratches her head nervously.
“We believe it didn’t work because we used Benji’s DNA the first time”.
She seemed confused.
“Benji’s DNA? Why would you need Benji’s DNA for”?
“Cause the cure requires your soulmates DNA”.
She laughs thinking she is joking. “Oh, your serious”.
Kris pulls out the vile and hands it to Josemary.
“So, this is the cure that is going to turn me completely human” she asked?
“Theoretically” Kris said.
“And may I ask who’s DNA is in this one”?
“Mine” she said unconfidently.
Josemary smiles and she pulls Kris in for a kiss “it better be yours”.
She continues to study it.
“Do you want me to take it” she asked?
“That’s completely up to you. I’m not even sure if it work will work”.
“Why? Are you worried that if it doesn’t then you will not be my soulmate”.
Kris shakes her head “no. I’m confident in that fact that I am.”
“So, than what? You worried that I might wolf all out again”.
Kris shakes her head no again “I’ll never put you in that predicament again where you feel like you could lose me.”
Josemary grabs her and pulls her to embrace her “you promise” she asked?
“I promise”.
Josemary tosses the vile into the river.
“This is who I am. Even though it can be unpredictable and messy at times I wouldn’t give up a piece of who I am because other people think I’m a monster. I just hope no matter what you will always love me.”
“I’m still here ain’t I” Kris assured her.
They continued to embrace while staring out at the beautiful view of the river.
