An Ode To SHREDDIN'

An Ode to Shreddin' -

Riding a chair lift anticipating the joy of this place,
Excitement builds in me, feeling the wind against my face.
Scattered clouds, beams of sunlight, and the bluest sky.
No one could be happier in this moment, a feeling on high!
The ramp approaches and my fellow rider and I scoot forward on the chair,
The joy rising out of us as we prepare.
We slide down the snow packed ramp,
Carving on our edges, feeling like a world champ.
Confidence raging, the excitement continues to rise,
Down the Mountain we are going to fly!
I on my Skis and my friend on their board,
Ready to race down the mountain like a savage horde!
Traveling in a pack, and spraying POW all around,
Surfing and smearing in the White Room our joy abounds!
Looking for all the side-hits and natural jumps,
Challenging ourselves by ripping through the bumps!
Skimming the tops, and busting through the chop,
Always on the prowl for the next ledge to drop.
The sounds of carving on the mountain corduroy, what a joy to behold,
Rippin' down the mountain an inch out of control!
Racing each other, carving on piste,
Oh God there is no greater feeling in the world than this!
A bluebird day, with fresh inches of POW,
I am mindful in this moment, fully living in the now.
Cutting through the glades, slashing through the trees,
Always on the prowl for the untouched freshies!
Spotting the snow capped boulder from up the hill, I take aim,
Hitting it just right, soaring through the air looking for that mountain fame.
Stomping the landing the powder just explodes,
What do you know a pillow soft landing on the fresh snow.
Down the hill we continue to race,
With ear to ear smiles firmly on our face.
Thank you God for days like this,
Ripping down the mountain, on and off piste!
