Sonnet of Hope

As the sun races across the blue sky
When it’s passed it’s zenith and starts to hide
The shadows grow and the world goes awry
It almost seems as though the light has died

I saw you stumble but I know you tried
You can’t outrun the dark, it’s far too fast
Do not despair it can still be denied
Each step will be hard, but not yet your last

For your heart is bold and courage vast
If you just do your best you’ll always know
Even surrounded by evil en masse
Stay true to yourself and your soul will glow

Heed my advice and I’m sure before long
You will then notice the first rays of dawn
