Short, boxy and stout; always an inquisitive look.
She loved with all of her might.
Jessie followed at your feet, and of treats, partook;
She was always within your sight.
She liked her walks, her treats, and praise,
A constant companion was she;
For almost seventeen years, a pup was raised,
Her love and devotion were free.
I miss that girl, and think often of her,
I cannot imagine her gone,
She was light and love, sweet and pure;
Time without her has been long.
So, Jessie, I'll see you one day,
Across that Rainbow Bridge,
Once again, we'll romp and play,
Alongside Eternity's ridge.
Jessie was a black German pug. In her later years, she had a lot of white mixed in. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge back in March 2023 and would have been 17 on June 26th. We've had a lot of dogs growing up, but for some reason, Jessie captured my heart, and I will always compare any other pet to her.
