Psychological/Internet Savvy Novel of Human Evil YA/Adult
It's exciting to become so enraptured with a novel I can't stop reading, even into the wee hours when sleep is strenuously beckoning. Such was my experience yesterday reading CHLOE CATES IS MISSING, a storyline so twisted I kept having to check behind me to be sure I wasn't being constricted by an invisible python. Unlike a lot of my reading, this novel doesn't delve into the Supernatural nor Paranormal, and it leaves the popular subgenre of "Psychological Thriller" in the dust while it carefully and subtly delineates the concealed nature of Human Evil, that which smiles to our face while its knives are shredding our skin. Even when we think every single sin, fault, ugly accusation, each gauntlet, has been tossed, even then...the author is not through shredding our souls. I spent a basically sleepless night worrying at the threads of this story and marveling at its astonishing execution.
