MLK’s Dream Continues fro writer's cramp

MLK’s Dream Continues

36 lines

Martin Luther King
Had a dream
That electrified the world
And changed the U.S. for ever.

His dream that someday -

We would overcome hate,
Overcome racism,
Overcome our national shame
Of slavery and genocide
Against the native Americans,
And decades of exclusion
Of Asian immigrants.
Decades of hatred
Against the LGBTQ community.

Was powerful proof,
That in the end,
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness,
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate,
only love can do that."

And this day
His words and dreams
Are needed more than ever,

To combat the rising neofascism
Anti-Asian hate crime
Homophobia
Racism, white supremacy
and xenophobia

Unleashed by the former guy
And his MAGA followers

But in the end
We shall all overcome,
Become united,
fulfil Martin Luther King’s Dream
We shall overcome.

Hate and experience love
it is the moral arc
of the universe at work.

Long live his dream
And his legacy.
