It's My Life

My life (my life). Is quite turbulent today.
Yet I’ll weather the storm, come whatever that may.
I might be beaten black and blue, but I’ll not yield my soul to you.

I live my life (my life). Day by fricken day.
Watching my time go by, recording what I can say.
But I refuse to acknowledge my blues. I’d rather keep dreaming of you.

I’m currently a Mason, a Shriner, a writer, a dreamer, a person without a ring.
I’m happy and sad, over the hill. But I know a few things.
Although my hair has gone from blond to gray.
I wear a smile, etched upon my face.
I get back up from the dirt and struggle to keep fricken pace.

My life (my life). Goes by day after fricken day.
Without true love, I’m lost. What more need I really say?
I might be kind of generous, giving much of what I had away.

I’ve been a fool, a bum, a clown, a mime, a puppet without any strings.
I’ve been diagnosed as manic (bipolar), yet I write down everything.
Although I pop my pills to keep insanity away.
I stumble along in life, looking for my true place.
“Regardless of all the B***S***, I’ll still have my say”.

My life (my life). I’m thankful for every single day.
Each moments a gift, a test of sorts, come whatever that may.
I’ve lived with depression, been sadly down, without my rose and ring.
Rather than simply giving up, I rise to face my fate.

My life (my life). Spent hiding in the wings.
Chasing rainbows after every storm, looking forward to spring.
I’d rather be my humble self, regardless of everything.

I live my life (my life). Day by fricken day.
Watching my time go by, repeating like ground hog day.
Sure, I’m sad and lonely, but my honor shall see me through.
