What has destroyed my masculinity?
A bloodthirsty monster in the night?
A rampaging parasite inside me?
What phenomenon persuades me to write?
Only the mew of five kitty-cat kittens,
Newborns whose mother has met tragic end,
With glassy doll eyes and powder puff mittens,
They've brought my stoic uprightness to bend.
I once was master of my manly manner,
Never would I show a hint of pity,
Now I wear a momma cat's banner,
My ego melts as I pet each kitty.
When big enough to spay or neuter,
I will, without fail, ensure it is done,
For one day they'll be fruit for a suiter,
Then a kitty-cat litter won't burden someone.
