A Question About the Story

What's the story?
Is it a lie,
is it the truth,
or is it something in between?

I read a news story
the other day
about an interview
with a second story man.

At first,
I thought the interviewer
was interviewing a burglar,
who specialized in breaking and entering buildings
through upstairs windows.

The interviewer was actually
interviewing an author
who specialized
in rewriting stories written
by aspiring authors
that had no self-confidence.

The interviewee preferred
to rewrite tall stories--
those that are fabrications,
but that readers would believe
are true.

When ask if
they had ever had
a short story of their own published,
the interviewee answered
"Ghost Writer At Large!"
