Review of THE SHORTCUT

THE SHORTCUT by Danish author Daniel Henriksen is a lyrical, well-written "coming of age" Spooky Tale, multi-layered with character exposition and evolution, and of course young adolescents at the verge of starting to grow up. The scariness is really well-arranged, but I won't spoil it. I will, however, endeavor to read more by this author!


For me also there is a lovely "lesson" to be inculcated: Sometimes exploratory adventure should end before it starts, lest those exploring find both more and worse than they expected.


This is a compact, taut, easily one-session read.
