Double Adventure

"Jenna, this is crazy, even for you. We're going to get caught. You know that don't you?"

"Quiet, Jim. They might have someone posted out here. We'll be fine if we just keep quiet and stay out of sight."

Jim sighed, but lowered his voice to a whisper. "I don't why I always let you talk me into things."

"Hey you're the one that wanted an adventure, and twins stick together, right?"

Jim sighed again. "Yeah, I wanted an adventure, but I meant exploring this old abandoned building, not getting mixed up with kidnappers."

"Jim, you saw that little girl. She's the one we saw on TV. We have to help her."

"Well, I think we should just let the police handle it."

"They're not going to do anything, Jim. You heard them when we called. They said a couple of twelve year old kids should be home in bed. They didn't even believe us, so it's up to us."

"Yeah, I guess so, but I still don't like it."

"Look, we moved way down the hall like you wanted and our phones are on silent so there's no reason anyone will find us."

"Jenna listen, someone's coming. They're heading toward that room where the girl is. I wish it wasn't so dark in here. I can't see a thing."

"It's a good thing it's dark so they can't see us."

"Hey, what's all that noise? What are they doing to that poor girl?"

"Let's go. We can go knock on the door and run. That should stop them for a little bit anyway."

As they stood, a light suddenly blinded them and both screamed.

"Police, don't move!"

Twenty minutes later the twins sat in their parents car, thoroughly scolded and grounded for two weeks.

"Told you we'd get caught."
