Liu's Nightmare; A Short Story About A Little Girl Living A Nightmare.
It was dark, the bitter cold seeping through the cracks of the old wooden shack. The oak wood floors wet from the leak in the cracked, worn out ceiling. The room surrounding seemingly three times larger than the one residing in the room, which was one of an unconscious child, laying on the hardwood floor wearing that of a night gown colored a cream white that was torn in various places, and she wore knee high black socks that had long worn out. Her long black hair tangled with knots covering the delicate face that hid underneath. Her slim form was cold and wet from the rain, weak and uncomfortable on the floor. The bitter cold nipping at the pale flesh of her exposed arms and legs, the pain of the cold air easing the little girl out of her unconscious state, her vision blurred as she attempted to focus on the surrounding area. Once the girl's vision had returned, she slowly outstretched her arm and pressed the palm of her hand down on the floor, using what little strength she had left to lift herself up off of the ground and push forward. Crawling towards an old rocking chair in the corner of the room three times the size of a regular chair as if it was a seat made for giants. Once she had reached the chair she reached her arm out and grabbed the leg of the old rocking chair, pulling herself to her feet, leaning on the chair for just a few moments to support her as she stood, soon finding the courage to let go of the chair and take a step forward. Her legs began to shake and tremble like a fawn learning to walk on ice, her steps unsteady, her legs threatening to give out though despite the fear of falling the child continued on towards the door and once she had reached the door, the little girl realized that the doorknob was too high to reach, she could not escape and that feeling scared her, and so tears began to swell in the corners of her eyes as she felt as though she would burst, however, her eyes soon caught notice of a small bit of light seeping through a hole in the wall, a hole big enough for the girl to crawl through. The little girl wiped away the tears from her eyes and with new found hope she made her way over to the hole in the wall, slowly lowering herself to the ground and crawling out through the hole to see what awaits on the other side.
