a little poem about Halloween
All Hallows Eve
there's no reprieve
from otherworldly tricksters
so we carve faces in pumpkins
not much, but it's somethin'
as we hand out ghoulish mixtures.

black cats
witches' hats
and things that go bump in the night
monsters' faces
ghosts' embraces
can all cause us such a fright

as the clock ticks by
the time grows nigh
to dance with ghoul and ghost
while werewolves howl
our luck turns afoul
we've a vampire for our host
