Two Words: Lightning Holds
Written by Alison
*
Chapter one
Alison and Gabriel were rummaging through Alison’s attic—searching for stuff she didn’t need—when Alison found a peculiar-looking box painted with red flowers on the front.
“Hey, Gabe,” Alison said. “Look at this.”
“What?” Gabriel walked over to Alison and sat next to her, examining the box she held.
Alison blew off the dust when blowing on it, and little dust sparks scattered around them.
Gabe winced, and read the name of the mysterious box’s title as it was in bold, brown print.
“Hm. Lightning Holds,” Alison read.
Then the doorbell rang suddenly. Alison put down the box and headed down the ladder to the attic and then down the stairs to the front door.
Meanwhile, Gabe opened the box and found a little case. A video game? Gabe thought.
The blue case had the same words that were on the box that he opened. He opened the cover and found a disc inside of it. Ooh! A disc—
Then, a loud scream came from downstairs.
Gabriel rushed downstairs, with the game in hand, and rushed into the scene.
There, in the living room, Alison was fighting off a man, a tall man, with short blonde hair and a crooked smile appeared on his face. The front door was wide open. The man held a knife up to Alison’s throat as she pleaded, crying, and her back was hurting as she was pushed up against the wall.
“Where’s the—”
“Get away from her!” Gabe yelled.
The man glanced at Gabe and caught the game in his eyes, chuckling. The man dropped Alison, which she fell, choking, and made his way to Gabe, standing a mere six inches apart from the boy. “Give me the game, boy. I am the CEO of that company and I want this game to be heard. And you’re—”
“Who are you?” Gabe yelled. “Why are you hurting my friend?”
The man merely chuckled again, laughing off the silly boy’s plead. “Well. I am the owner of that game. My name is Mr. Light. And I suggest you give that reckless game to me now…”
Gabe waited for him to go on, but he didn’t. “Why do you need it?”
The man had something in his eyes that Gabe couldn’t tell. Hatred, perhaps? Green eye jealousy?
Whatever it was, it faded away quickly with his smirk, which both turned into the soft and happy gentleness of his tone now as he replied, “Ah. You don’t know why I’m here and who I am,” Mr. Light gestured for Alison to come toward them, to hear their conversation.
Alison hesitated, but even though she’d just been threatened a knife to the neck, she walked to them, better to play it safe.
“I am Mr. Light and I am the CEO of ‘Lightning Holds,’ the game that you’re clutching,”
Gabriel took a glance at the game he was holding. “Why do you need it?” he said, repeating the question he had a second time.
Mr. Light hesitated as he answered, picking his words carefully. “Uh… because it’s the only one I have of it and I need it for… uh, purposes…”
What purposes?” Alison asked.
“Look, if you don’t give me that game, I’ll—”
“You’ll what?” Gabe yelled.
Mr. Light laughed. “Oh, I’ll just do the same thing I did with your friend here, but making sure she actually dies,”
Gabe and Alison exchanged looks of concern.
Mr. Light waited patiently, fiddling with the knife he held.
Alison’s heart started to pound in her chest as the air grew thick around. Her eyes went blurry as she couldn’t see anything anymore, even if she had her new black, blue glasses on she got just yesterday. Her head started to spin with a light headache.
“A-Ali? What’s happening to you?” Gabe asked.
Mr. Light smiled as though a little girl that was suddenly light-headed was just as normal as anything else. “All is a simple answer I need, that’s all. Yes or no, give me the game, do not give the game. Your choice. Time’s ticking.”
Gabe was sweating a heartbeat, but he was concerned even more. Give the game to the so-called owner he claimed to be, or keep it, risking Alison’s life? Or possibly, his life too?
Then, all the while he was thinking, he too got dizzy. They then both—Alison and Gabriel—dropped to the floor.
Mr. Light’s smirk appeared once again. “Time’s up. I guess I take that as a no.” He picked up the game off the floor as the kids were unconscious, and inspected it. No scratches, no dents. It’s perfect, The man thought to himself. He strode to the door, but stopped, deciding a few children would be nice company at his house. He smirked even more at the thought, his green eyes dazzling with gracious crime he was going to commit.

Chapter two
Alison was the first to wake up. She pushed herself up off the cold metal-like floor, and sat up, rubbing her eyes. She looked around, finding out she wasn’t in her house anymore. She adjusted her black, light blue glasses on her nose. It’s a wonder how they didn’t fall off. The glasses looked black on the outside rim, but when you put them in the sun or light, they looked an ugly brown. There was also a color of a very pastel blue on the inside of the glasses, too, which Alison liked the best.
Alison looked at Gabe, gasping a little while the whole situation came flooding back in her mind. They’ve fallen unconscious was all she knew. A man perhaps was there? She didn’t remember clearly.
She shook her friend a little and whispered, “Gabe, wake up!”
Gabriel groaned. He finally sat up with the back to his hand, rubbing his eyes. “Wha-what? You wanna play Smash Bros or something you said?” His eyes adjusted to the bright light that was on to illuminate the room, hanging from the ceiling. It looked like they were trapped inside a metal-like-with-no-windows-or-anything room. But there was a small, hidden security camera in the corner ceiling that they didn’t see was there. “Wait… where are we?” Gabe finally asked after minutes of observing.
Alison watched Gabe turn around and face her, replying, “Gabe… do you remember anything from yesterday afternoon?”
“Yeah… I-I think. Why?”
“What do you remember?”
Gabe tried to think as hard as he could but couldn’t think of anything at all actually. He shrugged instead.
As Alison was about to say something, a man came into the room. He had blonde hair, combed to the side, and was tall, about six-foot. He wore a black suit with a tie and black-jeaned pants. Alison recognized him immediately.
Alison backed away—well, crab-walked away—and gasped. “Y-You!” she yelled.
Gabe looked at the man, having no memory of him at all.
The man chuckled. “Splendid place I’ve got here, isn’t it?”
“Where did you take us?” Alison’s heart was beating wildly.
The man chuckled. “Remember me? Well, you don’t”—he pointed at Gabe—”Because I’ve wiped your memory.”
“You what?” Gabe yelled.
“Let me just tell you all who I am. I am Mr. Light, who’ve you two brought me to life by saying the two words, and now I’m keeping you for that.”
“What two words?” Alison was concerned.
“‘Lightning Holds,’ the game you’ve found that belonged to me.”
“Wait, so—” Alison saw the knife in Mr. Light’s hand as she remembered the wicked incident yesterday. She looked back at the man and continued. She stood up, yelling, “You wicked man!”
Mr. Light laughed. “Well, if you two weren’t such brats and said the game name, and just left the game there, I wouldn’t have to kill you,”
“Kill us? What’re you talking about?” Gabe said.
Mr. Light walked up to Alison, eyeing her with suspicious eyes. “Eh. I guess I’ll let you live for another, hm, day or so? If you’re not boring, that is,”
Alison gulped. Mr. Light laughed again.
“Let us go,” Alison said with fear in her voice.
The man made a fake pouty face, mocking her. “Aww. You just wanna get out to see your dumb friends, huh? How freaking cute,”
“Please—”
The man challenged her to shut up with his eyes skinning her pupils. She did.
Alison breathed heavily.
Mr. Light walked up to Gabriel. “How are you, my boy? You’re a cutey,”
“Don’t call me that.” Gabe replied.
“I can call you whatever I want, you ignorant—”
“Get away from him now,”
Mr. Light looked at Alison with satisfaction. “Why, you’re a good friend, aren’t you?”
“Get away from him—us—now. You have no right to…”
“Tooooooo… what now?”
Gabe watched as they both sort of argued.
“Please, finish your sentence, darling. I’d love to hear what you have to say,”
Alison fell silent as the man walked around her, eyeing her every appearance. He kept watch of her blonde hair that was scraggly just like his; not brushed.
The man huffed and went back to the center of the room. “Well, I’ll leave you two alone now to discuss how to escape. Oh, wait! You can’t!” Mr. Light laughed at his own joke sarcastically. He left the room, leaving the kids alone again, scared.

Chapter three
Alison panicked. “What’re we gonna do? They’re no windows, no nothing!”
“I know it’s scary—”
“Of course it’s scary! We’re literally in a freaking madman’s house right now! It’s obvious—”
“Ali, just calm down. This is getting to your head. Just relax,”
Alison had tears spilling out. She sat down and pouted next to her friend. “Oh, you don’t know anything, your memory got wiped!”
Gabe sighed. He hugged her to her comfort.
Alison was shaking uncontrollably. “I just… I-I—”
Gabe shushed her. “Don’t speak. Everything’s gonna be fine,”
“Everybody says that and then they end up worse than they already are!”
Gabe got scared at Alison’s angry voice.
Alison sighed. “Sorry. I’m just so… ugh. I don’t know how I feel. I feel this knot in my stomach.”
Gabe patted her on the back. “Do you have your phone?”
Alison’s eyes lit up with surprise as to why she didn’t, hadn’t thought of it before, and checked her pockets, but soon went back to her sour-but-depressed mood. She shook her head. “No…”
Gabe clicked his tongue. “Dang it, he took it.”
Alison went back to crying. Gabe tried to comfort her, but no luck came with that as they sat in misery for the next hour, unfortunately.

Chapter four
Charlie Green looked at his notes. Hmm. What can I make for a song? He thought. He was sitting in his studio, trying to come up with a new song idea for his fans and pleasure. But he couldn’t think of anything as he sat in the black, squeaky chair. He thought a song about "Minecraft" axolotls would be good, but he had to think about it more.
Charlie decided to go on YouTube to ask his fans for ideas. He booted up his computer and it opened to his account. He put down the notepad and pencil on his desk.
Before Charlie could take to his YouTube channel, ‘CG5,’ where he’d post all his music on there, he got popped an ad for this game called, ‘Lightning Holds’.
Charlie clicked the exit tab and it went away. He opened up YouTube, but something was strange. All the videos in the homepage were videos of the same ad he closed seconds ago. He shrugged and clicked one of the many-to-similar videos out of curiosity and it played.
It was some kind of news report, but nothing about this so-called “game” the thumbnail showed him.
Dumb clickbait, He thought.
The news reporter showed pictures of a girl and a boy, which she told the viewer, that they were missing.
Charlie watched the reporter discuss the case.
“...Alison and Gabriel have been missing for over two days, where their parents reported the incident two hours after they called 9-1-1. Alison’s mom told us and the police that Gabriel was spending the day at their house for a hangout while both of the mothers were at the grocery store—”
Charlie sighed. He adjusted his black, square glasses and paused the video. Why are kids always going missing? It’s either a kidnapping or something else. He walked away from his computer, leaving it on, but stopped when he heard a voice.
“Hello, Charles…” The voice was deep kind of-ish, and it sounded like a man’s voice.
Charlie whipped around so fast and almost tripped over himself. He looked at the screen, which now showed a man’s tan face and blonde-cut hair as the guy smirked.
“Don’t you wanna save them?” the screen said.
Charlie was stunned as his mouth was dry. “Who are you?” he said fearfully.
The man chuckled. “It is a Tuesday, Charlie, so I know you’re busy. I get it making music is your top priority right now, but just look at them!”
The screen showed security footage of Gabe and Alison in the room, scared, Alison crying, her huddled beside Gabe. “It would be a shame if I would have to kill them…”
Charlie yelled, “No!” He slammed his hands on the desk, his body shaking as he was panicking. He didn’t know why he was acting so scared-for-his-life right now… He’d always see kids on TV reported missing, but never in a million years would he act like this to it. There was something… special about those kids but he couldn’t click his tongue on it. Or even tell if they’re even special at all.
The man raised an eyebrow. He chuckled. “Well, with one knife to the kneecap, boom. They’re dead, gone forever,”
“What do you want?” Charlie yelled at the screen. He ruffled a hand through his blonde-highlighted hair. He was already stressed with coming up with ideas for the song.
“I want—”
The screen blackened.
Charlie’s heart was pounding. He didn’t know what to do. Then, as he was turning to walk away, the man appeared again.
“Meet me at Horrorwood, Arizona. If you’re going to save them, that is. If you don’t, then you’ll watch them suffer on the big screen.” The man laughed.
Charlie hesitated as the screen turned off. It rebooted, showing the YouTube homepage now, filled with random videos now. But at the first recommended video it read: Horrorwood, Arizona. Do you dare go there?
Charlie faced the computer monitor and made a quick YouTube comment on his music channel, which he was already signed into, and made a quick update to his fans on the community page. He thought of switching over to his second channel account, ‘CG5LIVE,’ and posting the comment on there, but no time for that now.

I’m going to some place to save some kids. Brb. Wish me luck. Probably not gonna stream today.

Then he left to go pack his bags. It was already 7am. He didn’t wanna run out of time, or be too late.
*

Chapter five
Charlie ran as fast as he could, his backpack that contained water and a little knife, swinging at his back. He accidentally bumped into OR3O, or her real name, Euria, his friend.
“Woah, woah, hey! Charlie, why are you running?” She adjusted her black, similar to Charles’, glasses.
Charlie breathed in and out. “I, uh… need to save… some kids at—”
“Where? What? You look stressed. Charlie, what’s happening?” Euria said. Her voice was fast with worry.
Charlie patted his knee and said, “Look, it’s really hard to explain, but some kids got kidnapped at Horrorwood, Arizona. I—”
“What are you talking about? Can I come with you?”
“Slow down—”
Charlie’s phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and read the text.

Mr. Light: Bring no one with you. You’re going alone to save these children.

Charlie looked back at OR3O. “Uh… the person said to go alone. Sorry,”
“Oh! Charlie, I do hope you’ll be all right!” Euria hugged Charlie, which made him uncomfortable, but hugged her back.
OR3O looked like she cried when she unlocked the hug.
“I’m sure I will. Uh, thanks, Oreo.”
“Go save those kids, okay?”
Charlie nodded and walked away, them waving, and then Charlie broke out into a run again, panting. He put his phone back in his pocket.
Finally, after a couple of minutes, he got to Horrorwood, Arizona. It wasn’t very far away anyway.
*

Chapter six
Gabriel looked up at Mr. Light, his eyes looking like a puppy dog’s eyes. “Please… we—”
“Shut it. A little friend will be here for you soon,”
Alison looked down at her black Velcro shoes. She sighed. “I wanna go home!” she whined.
“Well you’re not going home, so shut it!” Mr. Light yelled at her.
Alison continued to pout.
Mr. Light huffed and rolled his eyes. He looked at his watch; not to look at the time, but to check the security cameras. His frown to his victims turned into a bright smile. “Oh, look, it’s your friend now.”
“What do you mean?” Gabe asked.
The man chuckled. “Oh, you’ll see, you’ll see,”
Alison looked at Gabe with confusion. He shrugged in return.
“Perhaps”—Mr. Light leaned in close, crouching down between the kids, whispering—“a man named… Charles Duncan Green?” He shrugged to persuade his question.
Alison’s eyes lit up. “Wait, what? No! Is it—”
“I don’t know. But don’t get too excited, you may not see him. Or he, may not see you two,”
Mr. Light walked out of the room, stomping on the floor to shock the kids, and left the boy and girl to wonder to themselves.

Chapter seven

Mr. Light: I see you’re here. Come in, boy. It’s just the house in front of you.

Charlie sighed. He looked at the big house in front of him. It looked crooked, a very ugly, monster color-looking purple was colored on it, that was peeling off. Needs a paint job, Charlie thought. The house was a three-story, with a front entrance brown door with a circular doorknob.
I wonder why I’ve never noticed this before. I mean, it’s right in the dab of the town! He must’ve been staring at the house for at least two minutes because he almost forgot about why he came there.
Charlie snapped into focus and walked up the marble walkway up to the front door. He raised his hand to knock, but he hesitated. This place definitely looks creepy… He thought fearfully.
Before he could knock, the boy got an alert on his phone. Another text message from the man. He didn’t know why this man was messaging him, or rather got his number.

Mr. Light: Welcome in.

Charlie raised an eyebrow to himself as he put the phone away again in his back jean’s pocket.
Then the front door opened to his surprise. It was the man, Mr. Light, Charlie assumed. He greeted him with a bright smile, as though everything couldn’t be more perfect and he didn’t just kidnap some kids.
Mr. Light stood tall, at a height of 6’1, just an inch below Charlie, but looked about the same height.
Charles looked at the man with a hard look. “Where’s the boy and girl?”
“Oh, you’ll see them soon enough. Come inside, Charlie. I’m Mr. Light, by the way.” Charlie didn’t know how to react to his charming voice he was using. Maybe he was using it for the creepy effect?
The man led the way inside the big house. Charlie sighed as he adjusted his backpack to his back, making his shoulders ache.
The house looked normal, except the bigness of it, the house looked practically like all the other houses he’d seen on the street.
Charlie looked at his watch, and it showed the time. 6:46pm. The moon was surprisingly out.
Mr. Light walked to the living room, and sat down on the leather couch.
“Um… I asked for the kids. Where are they?”
Mr. Light smiled. “I told you that you’ll see them soon. Now sit down,”
Charlie sat down next to the creepy man. He hesitated and set down his backpack. “What is this place?”
The man looked around, as though this is the first time he’d seen it. “Lovely place, isn’t it? It’s a two-thousand-dollar three-story house. And with golden bathrooms, and—”
“Okay, just… where are the—”
A scream echoed through the house suddenly. “Get away from me, please!” the voice yelled.
Charlie bounced up from the couch, his face mad looking at Mr. Light. He yelled, “Where did you put them?”
The man’s face was so straight, it was hard to believe he could ever be mad. “Put who?”
“I just heard a scream come from somewhere and it was sure not mine!”
The man just shrugged.
Charlie sighed heavily. “Well, I’ma find them myself!” He stormed out of the living room, but was backing away in a second when two heavily-looking guards were walking towards him.
Mr. Light got up from his seat as the two guards grabbed Charlie’s arms. He chuckled. “Oh, uh, you’re not going anywhere, Mr. Green,”
Charles looked frightened as he saw the bastard of a man smirk with innocent lips. “Let go of me!” he yelled. He felt a sharp sting on the side of his neck then.
The man chuckled again. “I suppose that’s not gonna happen, Mr. Green,”
“Stop… calling me that,”
“Oh? Call you what?”
Charlie’s eyes fluttered like butterflies' wings. He then fainted to the floor carpet.
Mr. Light laughed. “A little needle to the neck, and they’re out just like that, huh? Good job, boys,”
The guards smiled.
“Hm. Take ‘em up to the second floor, where the kids are. I bet they’ll need the company. I’ll inspect the backpack while you’re doing that later.”
The guards saluted and dragged the limp Charlie Green with a needle in his neck up to the second floor as Mr. Light walked away, smirking to himself, thinking how easy his plan was.
*

Chapter eight
“Oh my god, is it… is it really him?”
Gabriel shrugged at Alison’s gasp.
Alison crawled to the man that was laying on the floor, who was unconscious. “Ch-Charlie?” she whispered.
Charlie’s eyes opened wide and quick. He sat up, looking around, and when he saw Gabe and Alison looking at him, he let out a childish scream. He looked at them both for a minute of surprise.
“Charlie?”
“Where am I? Who are you people?!” Charlie yelled out, glancing around. “Where am I?”
“You’re in, uh… well I don’t know where we are. But, why are you here?” Alison asked.
Charlie took a breath. His eyes lit up with recognition. “Wait”—he pressed his finger at his nose bridge and took it off—”Are you the kids who got kidnapped?”
Alison cringed.
Charlie was confused. “What’s that face for?”
“Oh! Uh, I just don’t like that word… um…”
Charlie saw Alison blush with embarrassment. “What word?”
Alison fell silent.
“Well, uh, anyway. What’s your names?”
“Oh, I’m Gabriel, I think.” Gabe piped up.
Charlie cocked an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
“And uh, I’m… Alison. And he lost his memory because that jerk wiped it apparently,”
Charlie nodded.
“You’re… CG5, right?” Alison was embarrassed to say it.
Charlie nodded again. “Okay. So how did this happen?”
“Well. Me and Gabe were running through my attic. And then I found this game called, ‘Lightning Holds,’ whatever that means—”
“Wait. Did you say, ‘Lightning Holds?’”
Alison nodded. “Why?”
“I got popped an advertisement for it and it was all over my home page on YouTube!”
Alison looked at Charles. She was shocked as Charlie. “Well, this man came right into my house and almost, like, slit my throat open,”
“Oh yeah, and then I heard a scream come from downstairs and then I came down to check it out and then the man was holding a knife up to—”
“Okay, stop! This is too violent!”
Alison chuckled. “S-Sorry,”
“And then I guess he took us here,”
Charlie looked at Gabe. “I thought you said you lost your memory…”
Gabe put on a side-smile. “Guess it came back?”
Charlie shrugged. He, again, adjusted his glasses again. “So… this man… his name was…?”
“Mr. Light,” Alison and Gabriel said at the same time. “I think we’ve been here for three days maybe?” Alison said.
Charlie nodded, thinking. “So, what was that scream earlier I heard? I was in the living room maybe when I heard it. Oh yeah,” He took out the needle he remembered was stuck in his neck from the guards.
“That was me,” Alison answered. “And what is that needle? And sorry, I’m not the sort of talking person, heheh…”
“Oh, just uh…”—he tossed the needle aside—”some thing that the guards put in my neck,”
Gabe’s eyes lit up. “Wait, you’re the music artist, right? Sorry, off-topic but I just remembered.”
Charlie smiled. “Yeah, I am, no worries. So, about the Mr. Light guy—”
There was a knock on the door.
Mr. Light came into the room. “What about me?”
Everyone fell silent.
“Come on, I haven’t got all day, ya know! Now, tell me what it is you're going to say, hm?”
“I…”
The man’s eyes landed on Alison. He walked into the room more, now in the kind of center floor. Two guards were at his side, closing the door shut. “Hm?”
Alison bowed her head down.
“What was that, girl?” Mr. Light stepped forward.
Alison still was trying to say something, but couldn’t say the thing she was trying to say. She had this thing, her cerebral palsy caused it, where she can’t really get words out easily.
“Um…”
“Speak up, girl! I can’t hear you!”
Oh god, how Alison hated when people told her to speak up because they couldn’t hear her with the quiet voice she had.
Mr. Light grinned. “Well—”
“Hey, leave her alone!” Gabe yelled.
You could’ve said that sooner, Gabe, Alison thought jokingly.
“Ah. You’re sticking up for her, aren’t you? How cute—”
“It’s funny how you use your ‘Oh, I’m trying to be nice’ voice and then you grow all mad all of a sudden. Why don’t you just kill us already, save us some time!” Charlie shot at Mr. Light.
“Ohhhh, burn!” Gabe said.
Mr. Light sighed. “You know what? I think I might just do that, Mr. Green,” He held up a black gun at all of them, smirking. “Why don’t… I just do that, shall I?” He had a glint of evil and seriousness in his eyes.
He wasn’t playing no jokes now.

Chapter nine
OR3O was still confused at why her friend ran out like that. He had said he’d had to save some children, didn’t he?
Euria’s ears rang as soon as she thought about the run-away Charlie situation. She didn’t know why they did—she guessed it was some ear problems—but instead took it as a sign. Charlie needs help, She thought.
Euria got up from the chair and phoned her friends, Chi-Chi, and Kathy-Chan.
“Hello?” Chi-Chi answered. “Oh, Euria hi! What do you need—”
“Chi, I think Charlie’s in danger. He said he’d had to save some kids and it’s already been four hours since we bumped into each other,” OR3O interrupted the girl’s high-pitched voice.
“Okay! Who else do you need?”
“Kathy, bring Kathy over, okay?”
“Okay,”
“Meet me at Horrorwood, Arizona.”
The girls said goodbye and they met at Horrorwood, Arizona soon after. They looked at each other and braced themselves as they looked at the big, purple-ugly house in front of them, the house Charlie saw for the first time.
“This house wasn’t here before—”
“Oh, come on, let’s go!” Euria said.
*

Chapter ten
“What about the, uh, ad?” Charlie questioned as he and the kids were still held at gunpoint by Mr. Light.
“Oh, that silly old thing? You really thought that it was real? Ha!” Mr. Light laughed. “I just tricked you all, the kids into thinking the video game game was real too!”
Charlie checked his pockets but no luck finding his—
“Looking for your phone? Here it is. I found it along with your backpack you’ve brought. Water and a little knife? I think I might use these sometime. Here, I’ll deal with your phone for ya,”
The man took out the boy’s phone and smashed it onto the metal floor, doing his signature smirk.
Charlie’s face was calm but his mind was screaming at the man. He gulped.
“I just—”
“Charlie?” A female voice appeared to be yelling his name out.
“Aw, damn it. You brought your little friends didn’t you? No worries”—Mr. Light whispered to the guard that was on the right side of the door frame—“Take the boy to the lab.”
The guard proceeded and grabbed the boy by the arms and dragged him out of the room.
Alison and Gabe screamed at the man to let him go. No use came as Charlie was dragged out of the room by the guards, yelling.
“Hey! Let me go now! Ah, where are you taking me?!” Charlie pounded, to the one guard’s response was, “Lab.”
Charlie’s eyes were bulging out in fear behind his black, square glasses as he saw the room he was going to be in soon.
“Euria!!”
*

Chapter eleven
“Euria, help!” Charles’ screams for help were heard throughout the entire house.
OR3O and Chi-Chi were calling out for CG5.
Kathy-Chan was the only calm person there. And she had a plan.
“Charlie! Let him go!” OR3O yelled, Kathy’s voice overlapping. She turned her attention to Kathy as her friend explained her plan.
“Okay, so, here’s my plan: I will save Charlie and knock out the guard whoever placed him in that room. You, Oreo, will—oh, and of course Chi-Chi”—Chi-Chi blushed at the saying of her name—“will go save the kids, okay? I think the kids are upstairs on the second floor.”
OR3O and Chi-Chi agreed on the friend’s plan.
“Wait- do I get to knock out the main villain? I’d love that,”
“Sure, Chi-Chi, go ahead,”
Chi-Chi smiled and off they went, upstairs and inside the opposite rooms of the hallway.
OR3O and Chi-Chi went into the children’s room, and found Alison and Gabriel with knives up to their necks; Alison held by the guard, and Gabe held by Mr. Light.
“You really think that that stupid game was worth something? You’re gonna die, little kids, I’m the real villain in this place!”
Alison was struggling while the guard held tightly on her arm. “Please, let us go! We didn’t do anything, please! I don’t wanna die!!” Alison and Gabriel’s eyes pleaded and cried—tears streaming—while they sobbed for their life.
“Yeah, we’re just—”
“Hey! Leave the kids alone!”
Alison recognized the girl’s voice; who couldn’t? It was Chi-Chi’s annoying voice, or she thought was annoying. She didn’t really like her voice that much. Her eyes were blurry and couldn’t make out the two other figures standing next to the very short girl.
Mr. Light was amused by the ladies' appearance finally. “It took you long enough to try and come up here. You should be proud that I didn’t kill these kids already. I guess you have to watch them die then,” He put on a smile of greed.
“Oh yeah? Then we just have—”
Suddenly, OR3O and Chi-Chi was pricked by the needle, making them faint. It seems that Mr. Light likes needles with unconscious poison in them a little too much.
One guard stood by the lady’s sleeping bodies and stood faceless, as though nothing just happened.
A scream came from the other room down the hallway just then.

***

Charlie was screaming as though he was screaming for his life. Oh wait, he was. Because he’d been tied to a hospital bed, legs and arms strapped down, and was in grave danger. The guard was holding a lightning-bolt-shaped tool and was about to cut open his chest, examining him.
“Kathy! Thank gosh you’re here, please, help me—”
The guard put a mouthpiece on his mouth, and he struggled to talk.
Kathy glowed anger in her eyes. “Let my friend go, you idiot!!” she yelled, sprinting and smacked the guard right in the face, and stabbing him in the chest with the lightning-bolt tool. She flipped her brown hair back and unwrinkled her pink dress.
Kathy then unstrapped Charles and took off the mouthpiece. CG5 gasped as he sat up, breathing heavily. When he finally got down from the bed, there was no time to waste. They’ll have to say thank you later, if there even was a later.
Charlie and Kathy heard the screaming of the kids and rushed into the room, surprised by OR3O and Chi-Chi’s unconscious bodies laying on the metal floor.
“Help, please!” Alison shouted, tightening her eyes shut as though that would help her, and wiggled around to try and escape the knife to her neck, again.
Gabriel did the same thing—wiggling but not closing his eyes.
OR3O and Charlie looked at the men.
“Oh, you don’t wanna mess with me on a Monday morning…” Charlie said through bare teeth, hinting at one of his songs he’d made.
That made Alison yell, “Ha!”
Kathy rolled her eyes in annoyance. Why does everyone wait so long to try and save people? They just stand there and wait for them to be killed, I swear to god.
Without hesitation, Kathy punched the main villain she guessed, because he looked way too-over-the-top with the suit he was wearing—although she did admit, he did look handsome—Mr. Light in the face and that knocked Gabe to the floor. Mr. Light fell unconscious.
Charles followed Kathy’s way and then proceeded to punch the guard in the face too. He, too, fell unconscious.
Ha, copier, Kathy thought, only joking.
Alison fell to the floor, just like Gabe.
The other guard ran up to Kathy, but the badass girl she is, she kicked him in the groin without fear. The guard tumbled to the floor, soon fell unconscious too.
Charlie smiled and helped the kids up as he called the police on the wall-phone on the outside of the door.
“Soon, they’ll be crying in jail,” Kathy said as Charlie got off the phone.
The boy smiled. It was true, all right.

Chapter twelve
“Well, I guess I don’t have my phone anymore.”
“Why not?”
“Because the bastard smashed it to the ground for my eyes to see, that’s why,”
Charlie and Kathy were sitting on Charlie’s couch in the living room. They were talking about the incident that happened between the kids and him; or the kidnapping.
“I guess I have to buy a new one.” Charlie sighed. “So is the villain in jail?”
Kathy nodded. “Identified him as Font Light. He was a criminal that broke out of jail, his criminal record involving kidnappings. Mostly children.”
“How did he even get my number?” Charlie asked himself.
Kathy shrugged. “Hacked your phone? You are kind of famous, you know,”
Charlie shrugged at the thought. “Do you know if those kids are alright? I heard they were sent to a hospital or whatnot,”
Kathy nodded and got up from the couch, stretching. “Yeah”—she yawned—”I hope they’re all—”
The doorbell rang.
Since Kathy-Chan was already up, she went to open the door. Her face lit up with happiness. “Kids!”
Alison and Gabriel were standing in front of Kathy in the doorway. “Hello! They got my memory back a little!” Gabe said, first one to speak.
“Yeah, and the doctors said that we’re all good,” Alison said, her smile so wide. She couldn’t control it. “I guess we don’t need those games and box,”
“Come inside, kids. What happened to Chi-Chi and Oreo?”
They all gathered together on the couch again. Alison said that Chi-Chi and Euria were still in the hospital.
“Oh, are they alright?” Charlie asked.
Gabe nodded.
Charlie sighed in relief. “Didn’t the news say that the guy escaped—”
“Yes, Charlie, we already discussed this. You always forget like every other man,”
Charles chuckled. “Oh, um, right.”
Alison smiled. “So, what was the place that he took us to?”
Charlie cleared his throat. “It was… actually, I don’t know. I've never seen it before, but it was in Horrorwood, Arizona though,”
“Oh,”
They sat in silence for a couple of minutes, thinking their own thoughts.
“Hey, uh, Charlie—”
The doorbell rang again, making a buzzing noise like before.
Something in Charlie’s mind was saying Don’t open the door.
Alison went to answer it, getting a nervous feeling in her stomach. She thought it was just some trauma from the incident that happened, but it was really her stomach telling her to not open the door, but she just didn’t know it.
She opened the door with pleasure with a smile on her face, but it soon went into a frozen emotion; scared and surprised.
A man stood tall, outside in the sun (it was only 6am) and smiled an evil grin at the kid.
Charlie stood up so fast and his mouth gapping open as he saw the man wearing a prison outfit. His hair was the same as before, blonde and messy, and his grin was as the devil’s grin.
“Hello…, you,” the man said in a deep, slow voice, grinning at Alison, his eyes wild. “You can’t escape Mr. Light, you know. Even I can’t escape myself sometimes. Lightning Holds is a silly old game I made up when I was a kid. You got a hold of it, and now I want it back.” He laughed. “Just kidding. I thought you kids knew better than to open doors without your mommy and daddy’s stupid permission. Guess you forgot, huh?” He stepped forward, walking into the house—Charles’ house—and laughed again. “Well, now since I’m away from there—jail, I mean, I get to have some play with you again. Isn’t that lovely? Haha! I’m back, baby,
Alison backed away, almost tripping over the living room carpet.
Mr. Light grinned. He whispered to everyone, “You can’t escape the one who created… ‘Lightning Holds’,”
Charlie’s heart was pounding with fear, everyone’s was. I guess I’m not writing that song any time soon… Or maybe anything for that matter.

The end.

Part two is out. Also, fun fact, the made-up place, "Horrorwood, Arizona" in this story, is a reference to Ice Nine Kills' new album, coming out October, 15th, 2021, "The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood."
