After the events of Future Connected, Melia Antiqua lets herself become a little spoiled.
WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR XENOBLADE 1, DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED FUTURE CONNECTED!

The city of Alcamoth, after a long, LONG restoration process, was finally bustling with life again. The elevators worked, the teleporters functioned, and Teelan's research had allowed the remaining Telethia to be transformed back into High Entia. In fact, Alcamoth was stronger than it had ever been, due to Homs, Nopon, and Machina alike helping to rebuild it and becoming allies of the High Entia.

None of this would have been possible without the valiant efforts of Queen Melia Antiqua, Shulk, and the rest of their party, who had fought long and hard to end the tyranny imposed upon the world by the evil god Zanza. Melia in particular had also had to bravely fight off the nebulous force terrorising Alcamoth known as the Fog King.

Of course, all of that had happened in the past. There was no way Melia would be able to do that now.

‘Mmmmmmm...this is so divine!’

That voice was from none other than Melia Antiqua herself, who had just eaten Feris meat straight from Valak Mountain. She was now eating a cake with an unrestrained passion that would have shocked anyone who knew her as demure and soft-spoken.

She swallowed the cake and let out a rather ferocious belch, causing her to blush in mortification and slap her left hand to her mouth. Still, her wings fluttered appreciatively, and her brain was telling Melia’s belly it wasn’t full yet. Her belly purred in agreement.

Melia let her other hand fall to her stomach; the stomach she hated so much, and kneaded its chubby softness disapprovingly. Two years ago, back when the Fog King was still at large, and even before, when Zanza and the Mechon terrorised the world, her body had been skinny as a rake, and she’d been able to travel very long distances.

Now, her big, beautiful bottom had swollen up with all the cake and chocolate and meat she’d hungrily devoured over the last 2 years. It wasn’t quite on the level of chair-breaking yet, but if she continued to eat with such gluttonous abandon it would have to happen someday. Additionally, it was the most major obstacle when she was dressing in her regal attire, since it was difficult for Melia to pull them over it’s swell with her weak arms, and it always threatened to burst through whatever she was wearing at the time.

Melia’s large, lardy legs had seen their fair share of adipose as well. Her thick thighs had ballooned outwards so far that they rubbed together, a sensation that infuriated the High Entia. The rest of her legs had also plumped up in such a way that it was even harder for her to run now than before. In fact, even walking through Alcamoth was getting to be a strain, so Melia frequently gave into her newfound laziness and took the royal carriage despite her desperation to lose weight.

However, Melia’s stuffed, swollen stomach was by far her largest asset, having been constantly coddled and pampered for two years. The curvy swell of her fat tummy was so enormous that it sat cutely in her lap when she sat down (which was most of the time these days), succumbing to gravity. On the rare occasions when she stood up and moved, her pudgy paunch bounced up and down, knocking against her legs and making her even more disinclined to move.

The thing that irritated the High Entia empress the most, however, was that her breasts hadn’t even grown that much. She’d put on enough weight to have ripped through one of her most beautiful dresses, yet her bust couldn’t be graced with some of that extra plumpened poundage? Melia didn’t think of herself as the most superficial person on Bionis, but even she felt a twinge of jealousy when she saw the bobbing, bouncy boobs of young High Entia women who hadn’t bloated up like a parade float.

Actually, there was one thing that annoyed Melia more. That was the fact that despite how it had led her to become irrevocably chubby, highly dependent and more than a little lazy, she really, REALLY loved being spoiled.

She knew she shouldn’t. It was sinful, it distracted her from her duties as Empress of the High Entia, and it was the reason she’d gotten so huge in the first place. Yet it allowed her to relax. She’d been through an awful lot in her short-for-a-High-Entia life, with her father and brother bring killed and her stepsister Tyrea having harboured a grudge against her for years, and ESPECIALLY that the Homs man she’d fallen in love with had been in love with another, so why not relax a little and let herself be cosseted and babied incessantly?

In actual fact, Melia was being mollycoddled rather incessantly even at that moment. Sat in a warm bath having her hair washed with beautifully-smelling shampoo, a plate nestled on her swollen sack of a spoiled stomach, and not having to lift a finger to do anything as per usual, Melia hated the idea of exploiting her staff to wash and feed her, but she certainly wasn’t going to ask them to stop.

Melia Antiqua belched softly upon swallowing down her cake, letting out a small moan of pleasure only a hedonistic girl as round as her could let out in the presence of food. No sooner had she felt the cake bulge its way into permanent residence in her turgid tummy than she was fed another slice. The half-High Entia let out another mewl of delighted if disgusted-with-herself satisfaction as one staff member came to rub her big belly’s aches and pains from so many meals that day away.

Melia moaned again, swallowing the cake while barely savouring the flavour. She swore she could feel her blobbily decadent gut tighten just a little bit more. She opened her mouth and drooled, not wanting to be pushy but desperately craving another slice. The High Entia girl mentally kicked herself for her arrogant sense of entitlement when it came to food. Fortunately for her more corrupted side, more cake was forthcoming, and she attacked it with Gogol-like ferocity in a manner very uncharacteristic of her usual prim and proper poise.

She supposed that her newfound gluttony had originated from her feelings for that Homs boy Shulk. Whilst she’d desperately attempted to smother her feelings for him during their journey to stop Egil and Zanza, she didn’t think they’d ever truly disappeared. If anything, they'd resurfaced during their adventure on the Bionis' Shoulder. Once Melia became Empress, she ate to bury the guilt and the sadness at knowing she could never be with Shulk, and it had worked. She felt like she’d moved on. Yet she just COULDN’T stop eating...

Melia gulped down the final slice, letting out one final belch much more forceful than any of her others. The staff had finished washing her hair and wings as well, and they gently lifted her out of the bathtub.

She felt like she could have done that by herself, but why bother to complain?
