A short poem reflecting a tumultuous relationship.
I toss and turn and toss and turn
But its not time for me to cry, yet.
It's my lesson to learn, it'll only get worse;
The weeks to survive with whats inside.
I close my eyes
To the magical place behind me.
You didn't come from there
but I did
I'm free like a princess in a fairy tale,
but how did I get from there?

I toss and turn and toss and turn
because I know its not where
We are going or where we'll end up
The bills are piling up; the stress is enough.
I'm only six months, I knew it'd be rough
I need to be tough, so I tell them to wait
Emotions are easier to ignore,
than open that floodgate.

I'm spirally blindly but you wont see me crying
I can't toss and turn so I lay in silence
Scared of your violence
I'm reminded
Of the the magical place called fairy land
Away from the fear of your backhand
Where you can drop a scoop of ice cream in a root beer float
And I don't think of the foam rising,
like your hands to my throat
