Octopuses have taken over the world and the apartment! |
Prologue We were on a spaceship bound for Earth. We were going to take it over and it will be the octopus's time to rule! It’s going to be our world now. Ours was taken over by greed and a lot of atomic bombs and now it’s uninhabitable. So we were on our way to what the humans called planet Earth. We had a hard time getting there with meteorite showers and acid rain. We had to stay in the ship for a week, but it was worth it. Chapter 1 My name is June and I am here to visit Susan. She lives in the Happy Apartments. The elevator goes up. I didn’t like elevators to begin with. Then the doors opened to the floor I was going on. I got off and walked down the hallway. Then I heard something. Then I saw an octopus coming right at me. It came towards me. I started to run. Then there was another one at the exit I was going to. All I heard was a loud SLURP! Then I was eaten whole. The octopus was happy after eating her. It took the stairwell to find its next victim. It went up the stairs to where the couple was in the hallway arguing. “No I didn’t go to her house.” He said. The octopus came slowly not to interrupt the couple. It took the wife and slammed her against the wall and let the husband run into the stairwell. He got to the exit and ran outside to go to the police station. When he got there, they didn’t believe him, but they did check it out. When they got to the floor where it happened there was nothing there. They checked the rest of the apartment and found it on the 13th floor. They shot it and it attacked them. It ate them whole. He stood there in defeat, but he knew someone who could help. He was ex-army a vet and knew how to shoot a gun. The person I was supposed to see started to call me. I knew they couldn't help. I answered “Hello.” I said. “ You coming? I still need to go to the store.” I forgot all about that. I hung up because this monster was more important. We went to the floor where the vet lived. He answered and was happy to help. He brought out his gun and we started to look for it. It was on the stairwell going up stairs. We were quiet as we came up the stairs. It turned around and bit him and his gun shot up to the sky making a hole in the ceiling. I screamed and he was dying when a second one was coming out of his mouth all I could do was run. It caught up to me and I thought I was dead then I realized I was at the right apartment I needed to be at. I knocked and knocked. Finally, an answer. I was so happy! “Why did you hang up?” She asked. “Sorry but there is a killer octopus and there are two of them!” “WHAT!” She yelled in disbelief. My friend looked scared. Then she went to her closet to get a shotgun she had been hiding. We went out into the hallway. We heard it coming with its loud thumps. She shot once. It looked like it was in pain and then out of nowhere it started to vomit. The next thing I knew there were two of them. “WHAT THE FUCK.!” Yelled Susan. Now there were three of them coming after us! We ran down the hallway to an open elevator. Susan took out her and started to call. “911 what is your emergency?” asked the young lady dispatcher. “Yes, I am calling about well you may not believe it but killer octopuses are at the Happy Apartments!” She told her. “Okay we will have officers on the way.” Said the dispatcher. The officer got there. He was a tall man and kind of young for his age. He went into the apartment and took the elevator. He got out of the elevator and there stood a giant octopus. He shot at it and ran. The octopus was throwing up another octopus as the officer looked for the apartment that called 911. He knocked on the door and a woman answered. “Get in here!” She yelled. The cop came into the apartment. They sat at the living room table as they started to think of a way to kill them or to even capture them and bring them back to the ocean. One of the octopuses was at one of the electrically boxes eating at the wires. As the octopus was eating a spark flew and fell on the ground. A little fire started as they sat in an apartment down the hallway. A loud beep was coming out of the fire alarm as everyone took the stairs, they saw what they could not believe, but octopuses! A couple people got killed as everyone evacuated the apartments. The octopuses died as they fire raged and everyone was happy that their terror was over. Chapter 2 A little octopus was in a local Walmart. Then someone tried to pick him up. He bit the person and the person dropped him to the ground. Then a couple weeks later he was huge. The Walmart was his and his alone. They did not know that only a small fire would kill the creature. The Walmart was big and it had a lot of services in it from food to clothes. The octopus was going to eat at the wires in the electronics box. As he was eating, a spark hit him and he went up into flames. There were people in the Walmart. Then the fire sprinklers went off and made everyone wet. They all started to run out of the store yelling and screaming. The octopus then exploded into a million pieces as the store burst into flames. The store was lost, but the creature was dead. They came from a far planet trying to take over the whole Earth. They flew on their spaceship to Earth looking for a new home. They didn't know about humans hoping for an empty planet and a new start. They saw the humans as bait, something to eat and something to destroy. They had a hard time with the idea of sharing the planet but they knew they could possibly stop the human race. There were more octopus coming to Earth to take over. The king octopus was there on the ship with them ready to take what they thought was there's Earth. The octopus landed on Earth and were happy to be there. They had destroyed their own planet Neva with bombs and starvation. They knew they could have Earth. They were somewhere in the Midwest of America. They got out of the ship and saw a large corn field and they were not sure where to go. I woke up and made my coffee and had a good day so far. My corn had done me good and it had helped my wife and I throughout the years of farming corn. I went outside to look at my corn field. I was shocked to see what looked like an alien ship coming down onto my field. I was scared and I ran inside to get my shotgun. I got up to the sound of my dad running up the stairs. I wasn't sure why he was in a hurry. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. I was the youngest child that he had and he was proud of me doing well in school. I was good at different foreign languages. I had a tutor come to the house every once in a while, to teach me my favorite language French. I went to the bathroom to comb my hair. It was nice, long and brown. I saw him running to the front door with a shotgun in hand. I was worried who could be here this early and why did he need the shot gun. I got out of the bathroom and went outside to see why my dad needed the shotgun this early. I saw lights in the field and started to run into the field to find my dad.He was standing by the front of the house and He looked scared with a worry in his eye I never seen before. We ran into the middle of the field where the alien ship was crushed into the hard dirt and saw something weird that looked like octopuses; they were big and orange and had long tentacles and big non human eyes that looked black and dead . I couldn't believe my eyes and I looked at my dad and he looked back at me and he shot the gun at them pointing in between them and missing them. He was too scared to shoot them so he pointed in between them and shot one of the corn stocks. Then they started to talk to us and I could understand them. They wanted to take over the planet and we were in the way and then they started to charge at us and we ran away. Once we got to the house, I told my dad I could understand them. He was impressed and knew I was smart and we sat there on the porch ready to shoot at them again. They came out of the corn field and then I said, "Ne t'approche pas!" Then they backed up. " Nous voulons conquérir cette planète!" Said the octopuses. I couldn't think of what to say and looked at my dad. "Vous pouvez si vous me laissez vous emmener à la capitale et je vais traduire pour vous." I said. I wanted to see what the mayor would do once he saw these creatures. I told my dad what I told them and then I started to walk with the octopuses to the capitol which wasn't far from the house. I knocked on the mayor's door and he answered. He dropped his coffee cup in shock of the creatures. I told him not to worry. We talked for a while about the octopuses, I, and the mayor. Then we made an agreement if they were to stay, they couldn't kill humans and had to be civil and they could have their own city. They liked the idea and would eat people who were already dead. The octopus city was doing good once the young girl told people they spoke in French. The city was big and there were a lot of them there. They showed humans how to make space ships. Everyone was flying around and happy to be once with another race. I live with one of the octopuses. I work for them and keep their house clean while they're out on business or having fun. I was kind of tired of the job, but it was something. People knew by now that they could be killed by fire. I recently bought a flame thrower and waited for them to come home. They came back a couple hours later. I waited in the kitchen hoping the oven would explode and they would die and no one would know it was me. They came to the kitchen and I let one go and they died right on the spot. I laughed and ran out of the house as it burst into flame. I was against this idea of the octopus city and letting them have a small amount of land when we were here first. I went to my friend's house for the night. Chapter 3 I tried telling the cops that I didn’t do it. That it was something to do with the octopus starting a fight with me or being mean to me. The cops knew something was up and asked me a lot of questions. It was too early for this but I let them talk to me. They took me into the police car for more questioning. .............................................................................................................................. I have been on the force for a long time. I didn't like the idea of octopuses living in their own city. This girl seemed to know more than what she was saying. I took her to the police station. It was hard to see someone struggle with knowing they did something bad and that there was going to be repercussions for what that person did. I knew she had something to do with it. The way her lip twitched and her eyes blinked I just knew she could have been lying. I was a young man, but that didn't matter when you went through the police academy. She had a court case in the morning. We knew we had her. ............................................................................................................................... I woke up at my friend's house with the door broken into. I was scared and then a cloth was put to my mouth and then I fell to the ground. I woke up in a basement with chains on my wrist. I knew I shouldn't have killed that octopus, but I was tired of them treating me like I was less than or not a good person. Then an octopus was coming down the stairs. I wanted to scream, but I knew they wouldn't care and no one would hear and come rescue me. The octopus was coming closer to me. "Ecoute, je suis désolé j'étais fatigué d'être mal traité." I tried to explain. " Je m'en fous, vous méritez d'être mangé vivant!" Said the octopus. " Regardez, je peux vous donner ce que vous voulez, laissez-moi vivre!" I yelled. "Nous pouvons faire un marché si vous arrêtez de tuer des poulpes et allez en prison, nous vous laisserons seuls." Said the octopus. " D'accord." I said. They let me go and I ran out of the door knowing that I had to plead guilty. I didn't want to live in jail my whole life but now the octopuses wanted it their way so I am going to give it to them. ............................................................................................................................. I was in love with an octopus in fact so much so that we got married. He was a part of a secret group of octopuses that kidnapped people who made octopuses look bad. I let him be a part of it as long as they don't hurt or kill no one and as far as I know they haven't done any of that at least not yet. He told me about a girl they kidnapped that killed some octopuses that she was living with and that she had been their housekeeper and took care of them. I sort of knew the family, but not enough to go to the funeral. I was upset about it yes, but I understood why she wanted to kill them, because octopuses think they are better than humans. I wanted to stop humans and octopuses from killing each other. I tried to pass some laws about it, but to no avail. ......................................................................................................................... The court room was cold and colder than usual. I knew I was going to jail. I was upset about it, but I knew if I was set free and said a whole bunch of lies I would be kidnapped again and most likely killed for not going to jail. I made a promise well at least I think so. I heard the gavel go down and I was sentenced to life in jail. I was crying and not sure what to do next. The cop took me to my cell. I laid on the cot for a second to think of what to do next or my next step. I wondered what would happen if I escaped. How would the octopuses know I escaped? I looked at the ceiling and there was an air vent and that was when I started to make a plan of getting out of this hell, but first I was going to stay in jail for a while to make it look like I was giving into the system. It was lights out and so I fell asleep wondering what my day was going to be like. .............................................................................................................................. A couple of months later I was checking cells. It was my turn to do it. I looked at the cell in front of me and noticed that it was empty. I was worried. I called on my radio that someone was missing and then the sirens went off. Chapter 4 I was running down the street. I was hoping to get a ride from someone, but hitchhiking was not my thing. I had my thumb out in protest to see who would be willing to let an ex con in a car with them even though they wouldn’t know that. I had no money or else I would have just called a cab so I don’t know where. I know my friends are mad at me or at least don't want me at her house. I wanted to go to a hotel to just lay in a bed and cry and cry. I was not happy with what was going on and I knew they would find me one way or another. A car stopped in front of me. A black car at best. There was a young guy driving the car and he had a hoodie on. He started to yell at me. “Get out of the road!” He yelled. “Umm... could you give me a ride somewhere?” I was scared that he might have a knife or something. He sat there for a minute thinking if he wanted to take her somewhere. “Sure, but the place has to be close.” He said. Then they heard a loud rumble from her stomach. “Are you hungry or something?” He asked. I didn’t want to explain that I haven’t eaten in a couple of weeks because I was on the run, but I said, “Yes and sorry about my tummy.” “I can get you a cheap meal at the McDonalds down the street.” He said. I got into the car and it was warm for the cold spring day outside. He started to go to McDonalds. We had a stop light in front of us. “So why do you mind me asking for a ride?” He asked. “I had problems with my car and was going to walk home.” I lied knowing that I have had no car in the past two months. We got to the McDonalds. In front of us to my surprise was a sheriff’s car. I could have pooped my pants! The sheriff was an older man and was looking in his rear view mirror for a couple of seconds. We got our food and parked to eat it. I got a quarter pounder with cheese meal and he got a Big Mac meal. I was so hungry I had seemed to eat it all in like one second. I wasn’t sure where I wanted him to take me or if he would make me stay here at the McDonalds. All of a sudden he grabbed my hand. I was shocked! Then he kissed me on the cheek. I wanted to run but didn’t know where I would go, but in a way I liked it. “Why did you do that?” I asked. “I like you.” He said. I sat there thinking to run or to stay to see what would happen. He was still holding my hand. “So you got a place to go?” He asked. I sat in fear and said really fast, “No.” He started the car and we were going to his apartment for the night. It was a nice and roomy place and he had an extra bed for me. I slept well that night and was worried about what this morning was going to bring. I woke up to breakfast in bed and it made me really happy. I was starting to think this guy liked me more than a friend. I saw the eggs, bacon, and biscuit and gravy staring back at me. I grabbed my fork and started to eat the meal. He handed me a glass of orange juice to wash it down with. I didn’t have a plan for the day. “Do you like killing octopuses?” He asked as I finished my piece of toast. I thought for a second “Umm...sure I do.” I said. I didn’t want him to think I recently just killed a whole family of them. He got a big shot gun out of a closet. “Well let’s go!” He yelled. I got up to put my plate of now devoured food to the sink and put my light jacket on. We got into the car. “We are going after the underground gang of octopuses that sell drugs.” He told me. We pulled up to the abandoned house on the corner of the street. I got out of the car and heard gunshots. …………………………………………………………………………………………….. There was a bag of cocaine in front of me. I was the runner who was going to sell it. Yes, I am an octopus and know how to do my job and do it well. We always took advantage of what we could do. I heard gunshots and knew someone was here. A cop perhaps or a bounty hunter. How did they know we were here. I went outside to where the gunshots were. I saw a human and knew this was not good. I had long tentacles and could whip and tear at people. I started to fight with the human. One slap and he was down. I started to bite at his long legs. I started to eat at him. He tasted good blood bones and all. …………………………………………………………………………………………….... I started to run. I was scared. The person who was trying to fall in love with me was dead. I was hoping to find somewhere to hide or get another ride somewhere. I noticed that a Wendy's was nearby and I started to run towards it. I had forgotten that we were close to downtown. I also forgot that I have had my phone on me this whole time. I pulled it out of my blue backpack. I saw that I had missed phone calls and messages. My mom oh, no I forgot I was supposed to have gone to one of her conferences with her the night before. I started to call her. "Hello." She said. "Hey mom." I said. "Where are you? Why didn't you show up last night?" She asked me in an angry tone. "I have stuff to do, I am sorry." I tried to explain. "Mom is it okay if I stay at your house for a while?" I asked. "Sure why do you need to stay at my house?" She asked. "I have had a bad time at work and they don't want me at the house for a while." I explained. "Okay." My mom said. ............................................................................................................................ My love was taking out the trash. I heard his testicles hit the ground as he was walking towards me as I was standing outside watching him take it out. It was close to our anniversary only a couple of days from now. Some of my friends thought it was weird that I was in love with an octopus. I just ignored them and moved on with my love life. We went inside to our nice traditional house. I heard gunshots a couple blocks away and I got scared. I thought about calling the cops, but what would they do? I listened to hear if there would be any more shots, but it was silent. I figured it was time that I move on and go to work since maybe it was just a random gunshot maybe by accident. I went to my car to go to the office. I had a long day, nothing, but data entries and to my surprise there was a cop at the door. "Hello." I said. "Hello we have a search warrant for your house." Said the cop. "Okay I guess come on in." I said. They came and looked at the closest closet and to my dismay there was a lot of cocaine in the closet. My mouth was wide open. "How did this get here?" I asked. "Jacob venez ici!" I yelled. He came down the stairs and then he looked at us for a while. He started to run, but the cop grabbed him and took him into the police car. "Did you have anything to do with the cocaine?" The older cop asked me. "No I swear I just got home from work and I would never do something like that promise." I recalled. "Well we got to drug test you at the station so another cop is going to come take you to the station." He replied. I went into the house to wait. A cop knocked on the door a half an hour later. I got to the big cold station and went to the bathroom to do my dirty work and then I sat in the conference room to wait to find out the results. "You're all good." Said the young cop you came into the conference room where I have been waiting. They took me home in a cop car. I got to the door and unlocked the door. I went to the bedroom and started to cry. How could he do this to me? I wondered. I thought this would never happen. We were a clean couple at least I thought. How long has this been going on I thought. I knew something was not right last night when he was talking weird and acting strange. He said stuff like where I am and who you are. I thought he was joking or just playing around. I was ruining my makeup, but at this point I didn't care. I went to lock the door and then I heard a knock at the door. ................................................................................................................................ My cell was cold. I never dealt with drugs and knew better that it was not me. They planted it on me. How was I going to explain this to my wife of five years. It was so close to our anniversary and I think it was going to be spent here in this cold jail cell. Chapter 5 The knock was loud and I opened a door to see an octopus with a hammer in its hands and it hit me with the hammer hard and I fell to the ground. Everything was black. ……………………………………………………………………………………. I was a part of an octopus gang and we just got the wife of one of the octopuses that we planted drugs on. We had kidnapped her to make sure she kept quiet and didn’t run off telling someone. We hoped she hadn’t said anything to anyone just yet. We had a brown bag over her head and a sock and duct tape on her mouth. We were riding around in a white van. We were going to the 'spot' or where most of the drugs come to be taken to be dealt out. It was another abandoned house. It was one of the bigger houses we kept drugs in, but today we would have a special guest at this house. We took her out of the van in a short run and put her in the master bedroom. The boss was going to show up today. It was hard to tell what he wanted us to do with her. She was sitting in a chair and looked like she had cried the whole way to the house. Then there was a loud knock at the door. ......................................................................................................................... This was my gang and as far as I was concerned this lady we had could just die like the rest of them. We had to see if we could get answers out of her first so that's one of the reasons why I was here and another house had some shots happen and someone had escaped and I was not very happy about that. We would find the person though I knew we would this town was small. I got there and she was sitting in a chair. I pulled the bag off her head and the tape and sock. She looked like she was going to scream, but was silent. "Why didn't he sell those drugs they found in the house?" The octopus boss asked. "I don't know." She said. I knew her husband was a bad dealer but this was crazy getting caught was not something we liked or allowed in the gang. He was no longer a part of the gang as far as I could see. I had lost all hope in her husband who was now somewhere sitting in jail. I couldn't think of what else to ask her. So then I slapped her real hard and left to go to the next 'spot'. ........................................................................................................................ The meal had not been good for lunch. I tried to eat as much as I could, but I knew I might throw it up later. I went back to my cell and got ready to do my plan. I was going to pull the fire alarm and let all hell break loose. I would others escape too if they were quick about it like me. I waited until morning to do it when we were all going out to the court yard for the morning before breakfast. I woke up happy and got ready for the run of my life. I got in line with the rest of them and pulled the alarm. Then all hell did break loose and people were fighting cop on human and octopus on cop. I ran to the gate and climbed over the gate and ran for the closest place I could to hide. I hid in an abandoned movie theater to get my breath back. I waited to see if the cop would look here for anyone who escaped, but they never came. I slept there for the night. ........................................................................................................................... My mom's house was big and I was happy to be here. I laid in my old bed for the first time in years. I heard her yell my name. Breakfast! At last something I had been without food and family and I was happy to have help in this time of need. I ran down the stairs and went into the brand new kitchen. They had renovated the kitchen while I was away and I was fine with it. They had taken down a wall and had made it bigger than it was when I was here in my high school age. I sat down at the bar setting and ate a chocolate chip pancake with orange juice. I wanted a scrambled egg. I asked my mom if I could have one and she said it was fine. I was eating it all down. I then heard a knock at the door. My dad opened the door and yelled my name. I got there and there was a cop at the door. I could not believe it how they found me, well I guess this was my childhood home. I let them take me. My parents were in shock as they took me in the big cop car. I started to cry and wondered if I could escape again or if I would be in confinement for so long that I would just give in. I didn't want to give in, but then again maybe if I did my sentence maybe if I acted good maybe and just maybe I would get probation. Chapter 6 I was back in jail. I was not happy with the situation, but could not control it at this time. I was upset and sad about what was going on and hoped to maybe get out of here either illegally or legally. I looked at my cot and wanted to cry. I had no hope for my future. I hated it here and knew that I would be here for a while. I heard the bell for lunch and got ready to get out of my cell. I walked down in a line to the cafeteria. I got mashed potatoes and gravy with a chicken breast with pineapple with green beans. I ate as fast as I could without wanting to talk to anyone. I went back to my cell and laid down. ............................................................................................................................. I could finally breathe. The octopus asked me "Did you know your husband was selling drugs?" I thought for a second. "I never knew." I said. I didn't want to answer questions and felt that the rope on my wrist was loose. I tore at it and it came loose and I sat there waiting to attack. I stood up and kicked the octopus as hard as I could and ran to an open window. I got outside and ran toward a hardware store. I got to the nearby hardware store and told the cashier I needed to call 911. The cops got there pretty fast and took me to the police station for my safety. I didn't see or hear an octopus the whole time. I was finally free at last. ............................................................................................................................ I could smell a fire and knew that this was bad. I laid on my cot and thought this is it, this is how I can escape again. If this did become a full true fire. Then the fire alarm went off. Then my cell opened and they took us outside. I waited until the guard was not looking and ran toward the gate and ran for my life and then in the corner of my eye I saw an octopus in a jumpsuit like mine running away too. "Hey, were you in jail?' I asked. "Yes let's get out of here." "I got a place to hide." Said the octopus. We started to walk toward the octopus's empty house. He told me we might have to stay in the basement and that a gang might be looking for him. They sadly already had his wife and I hope that she was okay. ............................................................................................................................... The police took me home and I went to the bedroom and locked it. They told me to not answer the door to no one and if someone came in to call the police admittedly. I wanted to cry in anguish of what happened to me, but knew I had to be strong and not let them get what they wanted. I wanted to call the hospital and see if they would let me stay there for a couple of days until this all blew over. I started to call when I heard a voice in the basement. I was scared and wondered what to do or maybe it was all in my head. I went to the basement door. I could still hear it. I recognized a voice and knew it was him. How I wondered. I opened the door, "Honey?" I asked. He started to come toward the stairs and I ran down to hug him. I was so happy. There was a young human girl with him. He explained what happened and we had her stay with us for the night. ................................................................................................................................ I laid in the clean queen bed they let me have for the night. I laid there happy it was not a cot. "Dinner!" Yelled the wife of the octopus. I went to the kitchen and she had a great meal for us. Pizza! Finally something not vegan as my parents would be mad and offended by the three meat pizza staring back at me. It had been years since I had meat and I took a big bite. I was thankful for them and knew that I could possibly become friends with them. I ate as many pieces as I could and with a big belly went to bed very happy. ......................................................................................................................... I woke up the next morning and they had breakfast ready for me. I was happy it was something other than eggs. I ate as many pancakes and waffles as I could stack on my plate and went to the living room to watch TV. A news show was on. "There was a huge fire at the Memorial County Jail House yesterday the young lady reporter said. "A couple or more inmates have escaped and police are on the lookout for them." "If you see these people call the local county jail." I sat with my mouth opened as my picture was on the screen along with the octopus. I couldn't look away and wanted to tell the octopus, but thought I better not he probably already knew. Chapter 7 The next 'spot' was a big abandoned building and it used to be a bread factory. The machine was still there staring back at us wanting us to use them and make what they were used for bread. This is where we hid cars full of drugs. I liked this building the most. I saw on the news that one of my dealers escaped jail was most likely with the girl who was on the news too. I have to find them I thought. It was no use in just sitting around waiting for the police to come and find out he squealed on you. I knew he would tell once he got comfortable enough to get out of hiding he would tell. I decided it was time to go looking. I got one of our hunting dogs out of its cage in the back. I knew the dog well. It was a German Shepard and it was mean but he was a good boy sometimes. ............................................................................................................. I went to go check the mail. A scary thing to do when people were looking for you but I didn't care until the dog started barking. I ran inside, but I knew it was too late. Then I heard a knock at the door. I opened it to see an octopus staring at me with a German Shepard on a leash right next to him. "Hello?" I asked. "Yes, so there looking for you huh, well I can make a deal that you can not refuse." The octopus explained. ...................................................................................................................... The deal was to deliver some cocaine to a gang member's house so they could deal with it to whoever was looking for some. I got into the big white van and I got ready to go. I got there quite fast and in no time they had given me some money and it was nothing ever happened and they wouldn't tell the cops they had found me. It was scary, but I knew better now then to go get the mail. We still hid in the basement waiting for the cops to come knocking, but so far nothing yet. ...................................................................................................................... "We got to find them!" The fat cop yelled. It had been months and still they could not find the people who had escaped after the fire happened. "Okay chief I am on it." I said. I got into my cop car and was going to the octopus's wife house to ask her some questions and see if she has been hiding them this whole time. I got to the street, got out of the car and knocked on the door. "Hello," He said once the door was open to his knocking. "I am just here to ask you some questions." He explained. "Have you seen your husband or this girl?" He asked as he pulled the picture up and showed them to her. "Yes, she whispered "There in the basement, but I want them to have a fair trial and I don't want the gang to know anything about this." She whispered. He came inside and handcuffed them and took them back to jail. It was going to be a new jail and this time there was going to be no fire. ......................................................................................................................... Grrr.....I am back here! I thought. How could she just let us out with the pig like that? I can't believe I trusted her and knew that she could keep me safe. I thought of how I could get out of here again or hopefully get that probation. They were going to review my case and see if I can get probation. Today was the day and I had a feeling I was going to get out. They asked me a couple of questions and told me to get my stuff and get out and that I have spent my time and that the fire was not my fault. I knew better, but I didn't say anything. I was ready to get out and do what I was going to do before I got arrested and go to college. ................................................................................................................................ Susan has been living in my apartment with me ever since the incident with the octopuses happened. I felt sorry for her, at least she didn't lose her job at the office as a secretary. She would answer the phones and do PowerPoint presentations on how well the company was doing. I let her live with me until she could find a new place. She told me she had been looking and found a place and was taking a tour today. I was very excited. We went together to check the place out. We got there and it was a big condo and it had a nice kitchen. The price was nice and she had a feeling that this was going to be home. I knew she was excited because when we got home she started to pack to get ready to move into her apartment. She was moving today. She had a U-Haul waiting outside. It was great to see her happy. I hoped for the best for her. She was going to get the deposit back most everyone did because of the fire. The company that owned the building felt bad for everyone because the building was a total loss. So she was waiting for her deposit check to come in the mail. She trusted me because it was being sent to my house. I was going to help her move. My husband was also helping her move. He was a nice strong guy. We had everything in the U-Haul and we got to her new place to unpack. Once it took four hours we had everything in and with a teary eye I said goodbye and let my friend start her new life. ...…………...…...……...……………......……......………………...………………….. Lunch was kind of gross. Green beans with old mac and cheese. Jail food was no buffet. It was hard to stay here when everyone asked you on your first day what you did to get in here. I had a couple of friends. It was a woman's jail. It was a big jail with a backyard and a gym for the inmates. My friend Lilly told me about the gym when I first got here. It was kind of hidden behind the cafeteria. She was a good friend we exercised together sometimes. I had another friend who drew a lot. Her name was Carrie. She was a really good artist and I think she could even do tattoos if she tried hard enough and had the equipment to do it. I would let her give me a tattoo of my dead grandma. She passed away a year ago and it was really hard on me. Today I would find out if I went on probation. They interviewed me and before I knew it they had my stuff packed and told me that I was going home. I had finally done my time. I said goodbye to my friends and wished them luck on getting out and I felt sad, but I knew I couldn't stay so I said farewell and went on my way home. My mom was waiting for me in the waiting room of the jail. I was so happy to see her. I gave her a big hug and even a kiss on the cheek. She wanted to celebrate so we went to Olive Garden. The restaurant was busy like it always was. I found a booth and we ordered white wine and we got salad and breadsticks. I then ordered a tour of Italy and my mom got spaghetti. I was so full when I left I felt like I had a food baby. I went home to my bedroom and took a nap, finally able to sleep in peace. …………………………………………………………………………………………… I heard a knock on the door and it had been quiet ever since I moved in. I opened the door and I felt it hit my head and I fell on the ground with a BANG! ………………………………………………………………………………………… There was an amber alert for some woman who was missing. I saw it on TV and I felt sorry for her and her family. I wanted to go and find her not for the money, but for the sake of the family. I was eating breakfast. I was back to eating vegan again. It was okay for now I didn't want to break it to my mom yet that I didn't want to be vegan anymore, but I didn't want to break her heart or hurt her feelings. I went out for my run. ……………………………………………………………………………………… It felt like I was in some kind of vehicle and I could feel the door next to me. I was trying to get the car door open. I got my wrist loose and I opened the door while the car was in motion. I got the bag off my head and I saw a girl running toward me. "HELP!" I yelled. I ran toward her and took me and brought me to her house. The family and her decided to have me stay there for the night and that my new place was not safe. She had some extra clothes for me to wear and they had an extra bedroom. They called the hotline and told them I was found and they got some money out of it and then they told the cops I was found too. I fell asleep scared of the future. ……………………………………………………………………………………………… I wanted revenge on the octopuses, not all of them, but only the ones that made my new apartment a place that was not safe for me. I was upset, yes, but I knew that I could find them and hurt them or at least get the police involved. I went outside to where she was running and I saw an old abandoned house. I knocked on the door. Then an octopus answered. "Hello is this your house?" I asked. Then as quickly as they could they closed the door. I got my phone out and called the police and they came and searched the house and found a lot of drugs. They have had this house on watch for quite some time and now it is all coming out. They got arrested and I felt happy. For once I did something good! I went back to the house to tell my friends. …………………………………………………………………………………………………… "How did half of the gang get arrested?" Asked the boss who was quite mad. "I don't know if the cops got lucky." I said. It was sad what happened, but there was nothing that we could do and now the cops knew that most or all of the abandoned houses had drugs in them and maybe a car or van to run the drugs. We need a new plan. Then the boss pulled up a map of an underground subway station that we were going to use instead. It was a good plan and everyone got everything loaded in the vans and cars to be put in the new place. We called the 'underground'. ………………………………………………………………………………………………… Being free was great! Hearing my mom's laughter was even better. I was looking at colleges on the computer. I thought why don't I just get a job. I looked at other websites looking for jobs. Then there was an internship with the police department to become a cop, little pay, but if I got my foot in the door I bet I could do it! I was smiling as I put my application in. In a couple of hours, I got a phone call and they wanted me the next morning. I was happy to start a new chapter in my life. I told my mom the news and she was so happy she was jumping up and down and my dad broke out in laughter and that's when I knew this job was for me and me and I went to bed happy. This investigation was hard, so I kept studying the file. I knew I could crack down on all of the octopuses who were in the drug buying and selling a business. I noticed that all the houses they had a picture of were abandoned. I got going with my partner before they found a new place. We got there and to our surprise they were taking stuff out to a new place and once we got one of them arrested he told us where they were going next. Underground. I was surprised. Then we caught them all, even the boss and we stopped the drug trafficking in the whole town! ................................................................................... I think it was safe to go to my new apartment now after I heard on the news what happened. My friends dropped me off at my place. I saw a note on my door. `I got them for you now you can sleep in peace and quiet, I hope this note finds you well' Sincerely, Intern Jessica. I felt so happy going to my bedroom I felt like crying, but crying happy tears for once I was safe. I went to bed very happy. THE END |
