a poem on loss

What can be said

To take away this pain?

What can I do

To make it go away?

Because though I smile

To cover my hurt

Every day I think I fade

It is harder to laugh

But I do not think it shows

The light that I need

Is dimming, can't you see?

The path I used to know so well,

Is no longer there, in front of me

Instead there are sharp rocks and jagged stone,

Stabbing, once again, at me
