Raw Deals

Injustice does occur to everyone,
and awful the experience of cheat.
The flimflam, hose and dupe are on the run;
they run away aft raw deals are complete.

Raw deals seek out the gullible for sure,
yet even skeptics can be taken in.
A lack of fairness always will endure,
and you will often hear, “You just can’t win!”

I talked with life’s fair arbiter one day
about how raw the deals in life can be.
But he had nothing too profound to say;
instead, he just went on to question me:

He asked me how I felt about raw deals;
and I replied, “How do you think it feels?”
