Free Verse Poem. In reality, it's thought vomit that was written at 2 am.
Cold coffee at twelve AM in the "Walder" basement.
Struggling to keep my eyes open and my mind off you.
You intrigue me, you've piqued my interest.
Your self-deprecation has no solid foundation.
You are a mystery, a confusion, an experience.
I wish to know you

You are not my science experiment.

It seems odd to have such a genuine curiosity for another being.
I've locked eyes with you but only seen so far,
I've felt your lips but have tasted so little.
There is more to you than I have seen;
There is more to everyone than anyone has seen
This is the Human Quest

I am no longer a physical being
I have been broken open like a clam
A pearl was never found inside me, but
a source of confusion and craving existed there

"We are all beings on an astral plane"
Yet I do not know how much of that I believe
I believe more and more of things I have no knowledge of
but feel inside my fingers and toes

I am not saddened by the lack of sight into the sea,
I have seen the stars in your eyes
I look and expect them to stray like planes
and yet they are stagnant
They sit still in the sea of light pollution and lost dreams
Unknowing, unfazed by the silence of the night

Stars hear everything
This is fact
My secrets rest in the ears of the fish
In the sea above my head
