As we travelled through the mountains
We took gravel paths and mountain roads,
the highway before us open and bold.
The trees and their glory; the sun on high,
Painted a picture before me I'll love 'till I die.

It was six in the morning when I sat alone,
And cried for the things I'll never know.
But you would've sat with me if only you'd known,
Held my hand as the sun rose over the dome.

I'll never forget you and the things that you said
As we rolled down the old roads we love instead,
Holding my hand, heart on the mend,
You told me you loved me and I know it won't end.
