As darkness overwhelms my troubled mind,
I search for light but find that I am blind.
I crumble ’neath the burden of despair.
Secluded in the blackness, I’m confined.
I recognize my own thoughts that ensnare
and trap me, suffocating with no air,
within a labyrinth of doubt and pain.
In desperation, I send out a prayer.
How did I reach this point? Am I insane?
Have all my earthly struggles been in vain?
What must I do to leave this awful place?
Can I ever find the way to peace again?
A ray of hope shines on my upturned face.
I find my strength in heaven’s blessed grace.
