This poem is about girls that look pretty on the outside, but ugly inside.
She was just a girl.
A young, pretty girl.
She has yet to experience things in her life,
but has already filled her heart with lies.

Every now and then she'd come back to drink.
Going out with friends, or coming home sick.
She'd lit a cigarette if she wanted to.
She doesn't care.
She won't care.

She'd often look in the mirror,
pleased with the beauty that reflects back to her.
And yet she can't see.
How come can't she see?
That if you look closer,
she's not as beautiful as she thought she'd be.

No matter how long and beautiful her hair is.
No matter how charming her voice is.
No matter how soulful her eyes are.
No matter how soft and round her lips is.

She's just a girl.
A young, pretty girl.
And yet she can't see.
How come can't she see?

If she would only look closer,
she's not as beautiful as she thought she'd be.
