One Day...
They took a whip to my wildness
With each crack, cried “obey!”
And with every splinter
I could feel myself cave.

My elbows unlocking
As my knees did give way
And I crumbled before them
Broken and tame.

In silence I waited
In darkness I prayed
Licked the wounds they inflicted
Wishing to be wild one day
