A small homage to Dr. Seuss in honor of his birthday.
Oh, The Places You Went…

I really must say, “Oh, what a day!
Never before have I seen an array
of so many friends all lined up on display.”

As I was walking down Mulberry Street,
no less than Sam, I am, did I meet
who offered me green eggs and ham to eat.

Next came the Cat in the Hat with his crew
dancing along with Thing One and Thing Two
with music provided by Mr. Brown’s moo.

Next, Jay and Kay came walking my way,
though how they appeared, I just couldn’t say,
taking their fish friends down to the bay.

Not too surprising, Horton was there
walking along with his trunk in the air,
Whoville and its small folk still under his care.

So I asked them, “Why are you all here?”
They said it was one day they all could appear
to celebrate Dr.Seuss ’s birthday each year.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: They’re not really real.
But these childhood memories still make me feel
that there’s more to the world than just how it seems…
Thank you, dear Doctor, for sharing your dreams.
