a love story ended in tears.
Crying. The sound of a girl weeping. Weeping? Why is she weeping? The tears fall to the ground mimicking the look of a raindrop. Raindrops, they bring happiness but she is not happy and it is not raindrops falling, they are tears.
She looks at the sunrise and screams out in pain and sadness, all she ever wanted was to see him again and she lost him faster than a blink. The war, brutal to the end. She too was there that day, in the medical tent healing wounded men and women who fought for others. Then it all came crashing when she saw him brought in through the tent flaps and he was badly hurt, worse than any of the others.
He was cut up, deep, he had gunshot wounds, it would have seemed the enemy had gotten their hands on the latest weaponry while her country still had swords and only swords. Europe was not the best country to live in but fighting the United states made them look even worse!
The men placed him on a free table and She rushed to her equipment table and grabbed everything she needed, a needle, thread of some sort, cloths, a bowl for water and more.
She then said, "can you hear me, Arthur?" Arthur groaned and she said, "I'm going to stitch you up, alright?" he nodded stiffly and she yelled, "Marie!" an older woman walked in fast and said, "yes, Versatile?" Versatile looked down at Arthur and said, "I need your assistance for this one." She nodded and they started the procedure after 21 hundred hours. It took several hours but soon he was done, stitched up and all the shells were out of him. However, he did lose a lot of blood and needed to get to the nearest hospital for a blood transfusion.
After a few hours of no recue she started to give up hope. Versatile panicked for Arthur's life and so she once again called in Marie and she said, "I need you to hook him up to me, I will do a transfusion." Marie frowned and said, "Versatile, that's dangerous we don't know if his body can even take your blood." She looked at him and then at Marie and said, "with pleading eyes, "please..." She sighed and said, "fine, but this is all on you." She nodded and said, "I understand that, Mar."
The woman then hooked her up and said, "Alright, I'll come check up on you in a little bit." Versatile nodded and sat there hoping she could save him but within an hour his heart beat was gone. When the woman came back she gasped at the sight in front of her, Versatile had ripped out her IV out and blood dripped from her arm from a giant gash in her arm. Tears fell from her eyes as she looked at Arthur, his body stiff and the life drained from him.
The woman grabbed a rag and a blanket with a bowl of water and walked over to Versatile and started to clean her up.
Within the next hour they received word that a medical team was a few minutes out and Versatile broke down in tears crying. Crying as they walked in and took him away from her and then they took her home.
