Written at a time when my heart was too heavy to contimplate forgiveness. Its healed now.
Did I even stand a chance

against your cruel intent?

At a time that I was weak

your pursuit did not relent.

I needed time to heal my wounds

The wounds the world had left in me,

Instead you came and you made certain

that you were all that I could see.

And when you had me in your web

designed to keep me there,

You used my heart against me

Then left me in despair.

My mind is my worst enemy

when it comes to you.

When you used your wicked tongue

to make me think I was untrue.

And as you changed to the sweet face,

Angelic as I had first seen.

My heart would melt and I'd forget

The devil that had been.

How do you succeed

in this deceit over my soul?

When I see the way you lie,

how your heart's as dark as coal.

I wish I could escape the trap

that you had set before,

And run before your claws could sink

into my very core.

Its said that over time

anything can be overcome,

But I've no hope of getting over

This damage you have done.

Every time that you've hurt me

You'd have me think I was to blame,

And though I knew you lied,

your voice within me'd remain

Flesh wounds would heal better

than these cuts you've left inside.

From your voice I cannot run.

From your words I cannot hide.

Every word meant to wound,

did something worse with every breath,

The love I gave to you with hope,

Had been turned from life to death.
