A poem talking about my relationship with God |
I could write a verse or run a mile I could read your Word or play games awhile I could sing a song Or bake a giant cake what difference would it make If you weren't in my life If you didn't give me life If I don't live my life for You Others may not understand that I put my life in your hands They might know why I spend my life serving You I could write a verse to You because You understand my very soul yet if I write for man they might not understand that my words are more than scratches on paper I could run a race and win it for myself but what good would it do spending my whole life trying not to die instead of living for you for you gave me life I can read your Word and learn all I can about you and never learn all there is to know or I could play a game and in the end gain nothing from it what good is it to save my life in a game, only to lose my soul I could sing a song and not mean it, I could bake a cake for myself but what good is any of it If I don't have you For you are the one who loved me even in my sin You are the one who saved me when I thought I couldn't go on You are the one who healed me when I thought all hope was gone You lifted me up and gave me life In every single way and that is why I write to you, and why I praise your name |
