wooooooooo i don't know, i took some melatonin so I'm going to bed
And as badly as I want to be
Like a kid in the 70s
I'd sing you a song
It would feel like nothing is wrong

But its 2018
Kids our age are doing codeine
Your laugh gets me so high
Is it my fan or am I in the sky?

I can tell you feel out of place
I read it off your pretty face
There's nothing to worry anymore
I'm not like what you've been through before

I will love your secrets
I will hold onto your regrets
I will kiss your tears
I will carry your fears

My words might not mean much
I'm no Shakespearian such
I don't have the poets touch
Poets never have happy endings anyway

Don't you worry no more
Play pretend
I'm your greaser girlfriend
Riding in a red Cadillac
Picking up a sunflower dressed in black
A small car because we'd be in no hurry
They say butterflies but you give me flurries
Don't worry about tomorrow because this is today
Regardless, as long as you want me I am here to stay

You're my sunflower.
