Journal of a few chinchillas
Dear Journal,
Today I woke up and stared at my pet human sitting on the couch. She ignored me. I wanted treats so I stared at her longer. When she finally noticed me, she came to pet me. I yelled "NO!" and pushed her hand away. Then she said something in human language and closed my cage without giving me a treat. It was a miserable start to my day. I tried a different approach and threw poop out of my cage and stared at my human in hopes of getting treats but as soon as she opened the cage door, I ran away and hid in my tasty house. Later in the day, after my nap, my pet human reappeared with a new chinchilla! How does she expect me to have all the Cheerios with another chinchilla? I was so angry at her, I threw some poop in her shoe.

Dear Journal,
Today, the humans have stopped giving me my medicine. I wasn't too bothered, I tried to tell them I didn't like it to begin with, but they insisted I take it. One of the humans I have come to recognize put me in a strange, small box. I protested as loud as I could to no avail. I could feel my tiny cage being lifted up and heard some of the humans speaking. When I finally saw light again, I was in a new place! I could smell another chinchilla. I wonder how they'll like me?
