| One January day in the year, 2018 came a commotion as big as we've ever seen! A nail trim was scheduled at half past three, Our Basset Hound, Boo was nowhere to be seen! We searched and we found her, way back in her crate; rushing for the door, not wanting to be late The ride wasn't long, 'til she started to wail My steering hands shook, We humans, quite pale! Last time we tried our best to do this at home a blood bath ensued The Vet, we did phone! Boo wiggles and jiggles and kicks up a fuss Takes four to hold her, Vet makes five of us! The Vet trims the nails while three keep her still I talk and I soothe, later needing a pill! None the worse for the day, Boo gets some treats; A spring in her step, her nails are quite neat! Time to recover until six weeks hence We'll do it all again gladly and at our expense When your pup is family, you get her the best when that tail wags for you, with true love you are blessed! 40 Lines entry for
