We never know what hides beneath the calm surface.
Rage Within

The rage inside, well hidden,
grows in silence, never shown.
Her face a mask, porcelain,
smiling sadly, soul unknown.

Her agony, well nurtured
fed by anger, will be bared
Innocent folks, not knowing,
look right though her, unaware

Throw yourself down, make your choice
Sunny-side up, you like most
The waitress nods, impassive.
Filled with malice, burns your toast.
