I am not who I once was,
a carefree spirit filled with joy.
I could ride on eagle’s wings,
unafraid of what may lie ahead.

Trust was broken in shameful sin,
secrets too dark to dare imagine.
Lies were told and dreams shattered,
as a family was ripped apart.

Now I live each day in secret pain,
with my family nowhere to be found.
Tears forever fill my darkened soul,
my life has been forever changed.
