Childhood memories
Dreams gone by

When ii was a kid
Secrets were hid
Everyone had a high school crush
No one liked riding the bus
School was the place
That you had to face
The bullies and the freaks
And those they called geeks
Style really didn't matter
We were much badder
Are fun was real
Everyone knew the deal
We drank off bottles of beer
And passed it around
We never had to fear
Being let down
We skipped school and took a vacay
But everyone had fun and things were okay
We never fought it was all the same
No one thought about color or anyone's last name
We carved hearts in trees
And let rooftops down to feel the breeze
The rec center was the best
And so was "the stop"
No one was a pest
Now all I have is memories
Of friends gone away
When it seems like just yesterday

People have opinions
so please don't take offense
You don't have to take the time
To come up with a defense
Put the race card away
And listen to what I say optimist pessimist
Forget about what you think you know
From way, back in the day
I got 400 friends on face book
And only one in the good book
I chose for you to be my friend
And you did accept
