(1) Theme. Overcoming Adversity and self-doubt.

(2) Resolution. Alan learns quickly that he has to put his demons behind him as the situation rapidly becomes so overwhelming that he doesn’t have time to reflect, but to act. Finds out that he is actually a natural born leader and rises to the occasion. He must make many tough and often not popular decisions to save the ill-fated mission and all aboard the Precursor.
