just a poem that I attempted to write
5.10.2017

Long lost at sea.
Drifting with each passing wave.
Land comes as fast as it goes.
No other sign of life around.
No food, no water, no help.
Hoping to be found and brought to the ones you love.
Your family, your, friends, your partner, even the dog a gather when they find out you're still alive.

Kept hospitalized for a month, people in and out everyday. The one you love nearly never leaves your side.

You go home and are greeted by darkness. The dogs barking at the sound of the opening door. Suddenly the room is filled with lights and there's the people, the "surprise!", the banners, the balloons, and pizza.

Everyone leaves two hours later and the two of you clean up and eat leftover pizza. You spend the rest of the night cuddling on my he couch watching movies until you fa asleep.
But
when you wake up
there's a change in scenery.

In reality,
there was no hospital.
there were no people.
no party,
no banners,
food,
balloons,
there were no goodnight kisses or movie night cuddles.

you're still in the raft.
you're still in the middle of a large body of water.
no living thing.
no land to stop at.
you're stuck in the middle of nowhere.
no one is looking for you.
no one is going to find you.

these, are mind games.
they play these tricks on you.
they make bad times seem better in your dreams and make you daydream.
so dont believe them.
they're not real.
they never will be.
