Shadowed Night

Shadowed Night

Orange and golden moon
Shines through the blackened gloom
Leaving me a sense of doom.

I crawl under the covers of my bed
With an unnerving sense of dread
Wondering why I’m not dead.

Clouds seem to hover above me
As I try to relax under a tree
Writing my thoughts in poetry.

My words continually flow
While I listen to a crow
Singing his song so low.

The moon peeks around
As shadows seem to surround
And words no longer abound.
