A Poem for My Friends

I wrote this Poem
To Eileen and Kay
Paula and Roe


Life starts
The breathing heart
Warm breath is shares.

Spirits to gather
The souls that wonder.
Some in despair
Searching solitude
So not to know
Life’s rejoice.
Triumph! Live!
Laugh! Cry!
Feel sorrow and joy
Of those who cross your path.

Life ends
beating heart.
Warm breath cease to flow
Spirits gather once again
To bid farewell.

Those who once despaired
Now embraced by arms
friendships so dear
Who have travelled from far and near
Wondering souls
Lay still.
Fore you stand at the door
Where souls rest from journeys
Taken so long ago.
