A poem I made for my English class
I’m from Palm trees,
From the crashing waves and howling winds.
I’m from the wet sand and calling seagulls.
From the peaceful feeling you get as you watch
People surf
I’m from the ocean, whose water you
Always try not to get in your mouth.

I’m from tall skyscrapers and traffic packed freeways,
From the six-o-five and the five
I’m from greasy fries and mouth watering burgers,
From corn on the cob and ice cream
From dogs barking and silent hellos from passing strangers
I’m from shining lights and starless skies,
vrooming cars and whistling airplanes,
Busy sidewalks and smog filled air.

I’m from parks filled with children playing
From feeding ducks
From playing soccer in the yard
I’m from laughter filled memories
I’m from the city
