Comparing life to a book.
Life’s Book

They say where one story ends,
another is ready to begin;
what if the second story is
simply a continuation of the first?

Life is divided into chapters
rather than seasons or ages;
memories recorded one by one,
each one etched on a blank page.

There are pages we wish
we could rip out of the book,
and memories we are glad
we took time to write down.

Each blank page is a new chance
to make a memory we’re proud of,
allowing us to choose which path to take,
giving us a chance to change how it ends.

Painful chapters are few and far between,
unless like me, you continue to regret
pages that can’t be erased and rewritten,
making it difficult to start fresh and new.

Sometimes other people can write
chapters we don’t like or false stories;
while we can’t erase what they’ve written,
we can write an ending that changes everything.

So pick up your pen and start today;
write the story you want,
one that reflects your true self,
with an ending that’s perfect for you.
