My thoughts on the present school system
Like sheep that are herded to the slaughter
Watch the passion drain from our sons and from our daughters
Watch creativity outlawed
By your standardized world
A desperate attempt to civilize what cannot be understood
All it takes to change the future is the youth
Tomorrow is dark, feel the pain of the tooth
The pain of the bite from all those that resign
The pain of a child wanting to draw outside your lines
To live without your ignorant confines
How many more must suffer to realize the system is the problem not them
How many more must fail till you realize the test is the problem not them
How do you stand against the only thing you've ever known
How do you speak out against a cruelty that has always shown
It's face to the public cause it's always been accepted
Nobody questioned cause nobody wants to be rejected
Nobody can speak the words they can't form
All they've ever know is how to conform
Accept the system
Ignore injustice
Speak out against racism
Despite your prejudice
A man can not live by two names
I'm telling you this is not a game
We're dealing with the future and who reins
The world or brings it all to flame
We never speak about what we don't want to hear
That we might be the problem, the end is near
Cause if we stop the uneducating education's hold
We'll dare to see passion and all those who are bold
And so I sing freedoms eulogy
My prayer that one day we'll wake up and see
See how the world will end if we don't act
See that we need to start to react
To the the growing problem that we cause
Or else we will feel tomorrow's claws
And so I resign just like the rest
To the system that supposedly makes us our best
Cause how can one man change what's always been
When everyone's fighting so hard for this unspeakable sin
To rob the youth of what makes them them
To make them society's image of zen
A peaceful stupor is not the solution
Not when stupid is the common resolution
We can't stand idly by and wait
For someone to demonstrate
The courage that we lack
To dare to fight back
Against what we all know is wrong
This has gone on for far too long
I need us all to wake up and see, I'm on my knees
We gotta fix the system, I'm begging you please
