What could possibly go wrong? A Rebel Poetry Entry |
Rushin' Intelligence I watch the TV every day and listen as the pundits say “We have to trust the rule of law!” but this is what I heard and saw. Those whom we trust to legislate have chosen to investigate the man who lives just up the street and governs by a nightly tweet. “It’s all fake news,” he does insist and facts are things we should resist. His head he keeps deep in the sand ignoring protests ‘cross the land. “The Russian’s really aren’t so bad. They say nice things, so I am glad to heal America’s trauma by placing blame on Obama. I’ve ordered those who can’t be swayed to find out what role Russia played in messing with our liberty. I’m President – you can trust me! I just found out there are some guys who love finding and chasing spies. They’re smart … and no, it’s not Mike Pence, they call themselves Intelligence. I've threatened and cajoled each one - except the Democrats, they're dumb, to rush to judgement for my side (ignoring things I want to hide). “Order, order!” Nunes said, “Let’s put these rumors all to bed; there’s no foreign conspiracy (with blinders on) that I can see!” “The witness will address us now. Paul Manafort, please tell us how you came to work for Donald Trump while he campaigned out on the stump.” “Mr. Chairman, thank you much. It seems the Russian’s were in touch …” “Stop right there! There are no grounds to speak of such. It’s out of bounds.” “Speak of the millions that you made. Some claim your “work” was a charade, a sham to make your bankbook fat. I think it’s safe to speak of that.” “Uhhh, here I think I’ll take the fifth. I’d gladly say more but, not with out complete immunity or a pardon guarantee.” “I think both can be arranged. We own the White House. Things have changed.” “In that case I deny it all … Excuse me while I take this call.” ”Don’t worry boss, you’re in the clear. Nothing will be discovered here. The Chairman will back up my lie. Dos Vadanya .. err, bye-bye.” “We thank you for your openness. This was enlightening, I confess. So, let the record now reflect that all the boxes have been checked. It’s clear there’s nothing here to see … Our findings: No Conspiracy!” From the White House, up the street: “I told you so!” – a final tweet ... a day before the vote commenced but that was just coincidence.
